A lot of it depends on how much Yuri you want. There are lots that hint at Yuri and then some like Shoujo Sect which leaves no doubt. One of the old ones that is good is the Cream Lemon Escalation Episodes. A good one with a touch of Yuri, and has a very funny mud wrestling sceen is Girls Bravo.

Exactly... Shoujo Sect it animated lesbian porn, with about the same calaber storyline, (that is to say none). Cream Lemon Escalation isnt so bad, they have some obvous yuri in it with a so so storyline.
Unfortunatly to get any kind of good story you need to strap on the yuri goggles and find a show with 2 or more femal leads that are really close friends. A few good animes to watch are:

Noir: (I really liked this anime, but it's the type of anime you give 5/5 stars to or you want to burn it.)The story revolves around Mireille Bouquet and Yumura Kirika, and their seach for the truth about both of their pasts. Most people dont need to put the yuri goggles on too tight to see a relationship between the two, they sleep in the same bed, live in the same house, and eat meals together. Again though, it's a love it or hate it type of anime, I just happen to love it. I think the storyline is fantastic and the attention to detail is great, though some of the flashbacks get annoying. This is one of the few anime I would recommend watching in either english dubbed or subbed as the voice actors were cast very well. -- (26 eps X 24min)

Maria-sama ga Miteru AKA MariMite: (An anime about nothing that a lot of people hope will turn into a lesbian lovefest but don't hold your breath.) I have watched seasons 1 and 2 + the OVA and found them to be entertaining if a little strange. You may have to strap the yuri goggles on tight for this one, this is no Strawberry Panic. While there is an openly lesbian character, Sei, and they do tell a story about her relationship with another woman the main charters Yumi and Sachiko seem to be ... well soul mates... their relationship is more than 'best friends' but less than 'lovers'. I can see how some people could get the wrong idea but hey it's all in how you look at it. I give it 4/5 stars -- (23 eps X 30min + 1OVA X 52min + s3)

Madlax: While I havent watched all of it what i did see was the main character (Madlax) seems to be very touchey feely with the other femal supporting characters, but to me it looks like a motherly or sisterly type of love. Good story line though very en gaging. -- (26 eps X 25min)

El Cazador de la Bruja:I haven't seen this anime but have heard that it's on the same level as 'Madlax' and 'Noir' in regards to the yuri factor. -- (26 eps X 24min)

The thing with Yuri is that most of it is subtext. I mean you either have mindless porn or subtext when you look for Yuri series in anime usually. The other thing is that sometimes the anime feels like the Yuri is just fan service as with Kanu and Ryuubi in Ikkitousen. I agree with Kazuomi's list of anime,they are good choices. Though i think i enjoyed Mai Otome more than Mai hime. Not sure if this is helping much. Just another anime i'd felt i should mention is Kiddy Grade, which i think has hints of Yuri between the female protagonists.

For manga, I have to agree that lililicious is one of the best places to go. Though the Yuri section in the site mangafox has some other pretty good titiles. For specific titles i'd recommend Strawberry Shake Sweet, Hayate X Blade, Gokujou Drop and Gretel for actual series. The Yuri Hime magazines have some good one-shots and manga. Hope this was helpful.

i've uploaded Shoujo Sect here, it is one of the few really hardcore yuri animes, love it
