Fan girls I think are one of the reasons why yaoi is much more popular, we have so much time in our hands so we spend it by vandalizing almost every forum to promote yaoi. Yuri on the other hand, if given the right push, I think it'll become more popular than it is now.
I prefer yaoi over yuri, I've never read yuri and I don't think I ever will. Not because I hate the genre, no I don't hate yuri but it never piqued my interest :D

Well yaoi has gain popularity not overnight, it has been going on for a while, and i guess most girls would rather see a bishie than another girl, the plot-lines of the newer yaoi's are more intriguing to the point that you can't get bored at all.. u can read it on and on .. i guess depends on the individual...

i'm a yaoi fan , but don't dislike yuri , it's just that i didn't find something good till now , beside the doujinshi made for some wellknown anime like bleach , naruo etc...
but guys do like yuri as much as the like hentai or at least more then yaoi...it's not popular b'cos [for me] it's hard to find something good , with action , great story and art maybe...

I LOVE yaoi. I've never really read any yuri, I don't know why. It's not that I don't like it, but I'd prefer a guy on a guy rather that a girl on a girl. And yaoi's art is amazing!! Maybe I'll read yuri if someone can recommend a good title, but I wouldn't want it too graphic. I like my yaoi graphic, though...*pervert*...lol

Yaoi and Yuri are very popular for their sence of exploring forbidden pleasure.
I find Yaoi and Yuri as euphemisms of the words Gay and lesbian. Both are practically the same words yet contain very different concepts. I don't find yaoi all too interesting myself but I find Yuri quite intriguing. Well its interesting mostly because you don't see it too much everyday. |

I've never seen Yaoi or plan to. Its not I don't know anything about it, but doesn't do anything for me. yuri seems to have more romantic potential for me than both yaoi, and 'straight' relationships but in both yuri and yaoi, I hate how one partner has to be the masculine or feminine one... I mean you are homo, because you like your own sex right? :S It doesn't make any sense at all. |
