I have to ask this... (Yaoi v Yuri popularity)

In my country too, there are published only a few yaoi titles that most aren't like my taste, except some oneshots. but they sell it to excessive prices and the quality of the paper and the book in themself it's very very low, that's why, it remains unsold and the published has to close or leave the collection stopped ¬.¬
except some exceptions, of course. ^^ but it's not my case.

I like some light shonen ai, because I think too that some good looking man to being gays are a waste. ^^ the same I think when I saw them in the street :P

and I don't like yuri... simply,. I can't stand to watch 2 women kissing and all... it's my way of thinking... 2 man and good looking, yes, but other way no

Interesting question. but here's what I think.... yaoi and yuri are both akward
for those not used to it. To me yuri is alright (I'm a dude by the way) if it isn't one sided. Like when a girl is straight but i wants to try it with another girl and later on
2 girls and a dude do a menage a trois or something like that. yaoi is to me disturbing on matter how you look at it. yet I hear yaoi is insanely popular how did that happen? In the end it is different perspectives. as someone said above

I think you bring a good point to the table. (Leave for about three months and my thread florishes. I reassure you I am not rabid and I use deodorant!)

I find some of the storylines to be sexy. It's the idea of forbidden romance and some of the art is so steamy with yaoi that I like it. I admit, I prefer the "-ai" genres a bit more because they seem more innocent. But I am also a pervert, ergo my fancy with hardcore yaoi.

Outside of personal preference, I think it also has quite a bit to do with what each person's comfort level has been grown from. Of course someone who was started on Naruto is going to have a different experience trying to transfer into the yaoi and/or yuri fandom if he or she develops an interest than someone who grew up reading/watching Ranma 1/2 would. For a few people I know, it's more about where they're most comfortable than even what they're interested in themselves.

I'm ONLY for Yuril. This isn't jsut because I"m a guy, but most yuri scenes I saw included mutual love and connection, which I brelieve most straight scences don't have. Its just horny doods raping and taking advantage of gurls. PPl get their kicks offf that?? =I

I've never seen Yaoi or plan to. Its not I don't know anything about it, but doesn't do anything for me.
