I'm not a big fan of yaoi, but I really don't have a problem with it. Depending on the manner that it is used, like the gay doctor in the Hana Kimi manga - It would almost be abnormal if he WASN'T gay, and it cracked me up whenever he was messing around. However, some yaoi is a bit too much, but I think it should be viewed more as comic relief than offensive. The same goes for yuri. So that's my two cents.

wewwh..i hate yaoi..but sometimes i like the drawing..
why i hate yaoi?? its full of violence..ew.. its disgusting to look sometimes the story is awful..(gajebo dah..) its very sad to look at such a preety guy and discoved that he is a gay.. hikz.. for yuri..i love it so much!!! say yay to yuri!!!! banzai!!banzai!!! i'm no 1 yuri fans!!!! eniwe..can you beilive that i'm a girl?? hahaha i'm a real girl~~ |

Yuri is the one I don't know about. I've read a couple of titles, but I don't get the same fuzzy feelings as I do with yaoi. I don't know why, but two girls don't excite me like two men. Yurihime is one I liked, but I wouldn't have bothered if not for Toffee Pattern. I liked the supernatural themes to it. And it was funny with some of the other content, so yeah. I won't say I hate it, but I am just not interested in it as much and I am still green to it.

1) How did you first discover Yaoi? - When I was new to Anime, I heared a lot of Loveless and so, saw it.
2) What irks you about it? - Is not "irk", is the hot atmosphere, don't you feel it O_O? it makes me blush >////< ~ but the yuri's atmosphere's so calm, I'd like it a lot than a Hot Atmosphere. 3) Should it be banned? - I don't think it should. |

yaoi can be as sweet as yuri o.o yuri can get dirty as well >.> i've seen some disgusting yuri stuff already... same goes for yaoi stuff |

Hate is too strong a word. Don't like it myself, but hey, I'm a straight male so it's kind of obvious that it wouldn't be my thing. Nothing particularly wrong with it though.
How did I first discover it?... Tell you the truth I don't remember, probably sometime in the last few years while browsing for anime pix... What irks me? Um... nothing really I just don't care to watch two guys getting it on. Nothing wrong with it just doesn't turn me on. No it shouldn't be banned. Again, there's nothing wrong with it but hey, it's pretty simple to avoid if you aren't into it right? |
