Well, I'm assuming most girls would say they don't worry about having to compare themselves to anyone within the manga, since they are all men. This is only one of the reasons, of course, and it applies to me somewhat. LoL

Okay, my take:

-I like guys, so guy-on-guy action is something I completely dig. I think the same applies to why guys like girl-on-girl, because they like girls?
-Yeah, there are tons of stereotypical things you see in a yaoi manga, such as a girly uke and a macho seme. I don't particularly like these things in yaoi mangas all the time, but a certain amount of it is okay. I don't like lolita or shota type ones though...PEDOPHILE. O_O
-And I get to see beautiful men drawn on paper. I get to oogle at em' all day/whenever. ^w^

I'm sure I have more reasons...but I can't seem to put them into words. It's just a feeling, I suppose.

My preference for yaoi can be justified by a few reasons:

1.) I'm a deviant. Boy love is my own personal deviance, and besides, I write yaoi/slash porn better than I do heterosexual scenes.

2.) It's a different kind of romance. Boy-girl love is a bit overrated for me, and the stories and backgrounds involved in yaoi mangas or slash fiction are more intricate and diverse than typical heterosexual stories. The "against all odds" factors highly appeals to me.

3.) I have been a big fan of yaoi since I was in 5th grade...go figure! XD

I mean I love yaoi because is different, because it's beautifull and I like 2 see the challenges that the couples have to face 2 b together, I'm not saying that the "normal couple" (girl x boy) don't have challenges but it's when is guy x guy everything is even harder, the problems, the society, the insecurity and most of the time themselves (accept that u are different and face yourself is complicate)

Like almost everyone else it's mostly based on that the guys in the stories are freakin' handsome~!! ^___^
And because boy-on-boy scenes are waaaaaaay hotter and better than boy-on-girl scenes XD hahah'

I like yaoi because i happen to be a gay men ya hooo ;)

Because i can compare the real life experiences with the imagination of the mangakas(mostly female)

Most relationships i have are Total Flex, we go both ways, i just can't stand fixed roles so a few yaoi mangas turn me off cause of the fixed seme x uke characters.

But nonetheless there are very handsome characters draw around and really good stories too.

I turn that around cause there are days i am mostly on the seme mood or uke mood so i can picture myself as one character or another.

Or i can just read the story as a whole not taking particular notice of one character or another.

Also depending on my mood i can go for either shonen-ai or yaoi or just pure smut
