Can't say that I've had the pleasure of playing a great anime based game...
I really haven't played much of them though. I try to avoid them. I guess Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm stays true to the anime and keeps that feeling, but I think it sucks as a fighting game. Same for the DBZ ones. |

I would go with Full Metal Panic.
It has a good story to it and lot of action which can be adapted to a video game. Pluse you have well rounded characters and had lot of room for adding to the story and back grounds of the events.

Well, I played the .hack games (the first series, not the G.U. series) and I can honestly say that the game catered to anime fans rather than being a good game to "play." I found it to be a cheap marketing ploy to make gamers buy four separate games when it could've been done in just one whole game. The game had a pretty good plot but that's all I can say about it.

I have to agree that zone of the enders was pretty good although it was way too short for me. Only like 5-12 hours of story mode. Federation vs zeon, Gundam vs zeta gundam, and encounters in space weren't too bad either. The story mode in encounters was pretty good and all 3 had decent multiplayer.
