Persona 3, any Shadow Hearts, any Final Fantasy, Grandia 3 (I heard the story was pretty cookie cuttered, but the action is awesome), Rouge Galaxy, Odin Sphere (is 2d-ish and is said to way good). Thats about all I can think of. Too bad I never played any of them.

Well in the end, I bought persona 3 and its a really awesome game and i recommend it to anyone else looking for a good rpg
But man its a pretty rare game to find which is why i bought it because i can get the other games more easily |

Disgaea is hilariously good, alot of gameplay and good story, also the humor is terrific.
zenosaga is also one of my favorite all time series with long long gameplay and story. |

They're a little different but its worth trying games from Nippon Ichi, Gust, Atlus, and VanillaWare (I played and liked all of these):
Disgaea Hour of Darkness, Odin Sphere, Soul Nomad, La Pucelle, Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom You can just go to GameFAQs to look up a list of games by those companies by clicking their name when you check out any one of these titles. [Edit] Forgot about Xenosaga. If not all 3, at least the first game is very much worth playing. |
