Re: Are there English Dating Sims?
Get a DS and get Love Plus. Who cares if it isn't English?
Though, if you want English, try Shuffle!. It's got an English version now. ![]()

Shuffle! is probably the best dating/eroge game ported to English so far. Though it does have H scenes its more about the characters than sex.
If you want to play Japanese eroge in English you can use programs like Atlas or Systran via the clipboard to translate the text. |

Re: Are there English Dating Sims?
Lots of eroge type H-games have been translated to English. I can give you a few names (I've played all these games)... Keep in mind they'll all have a lot of Hentai in them, and some of them might actually focus on the sex more than the story, because well, I play these games to get aroused, not for the usually plain / dull story.
They're ALL for PC (I hope that's what you meant by DOS... Otherwise, sorry :/) Yume miru kusuri : A Drug That Makes You Dream ; an amazing game, with good art and a great storyline(In My Teenage Opinion). I recommend you try this one first. The plot is a bit overly dramatic and concerns what the authors saw as problems some teenagers face. (bullying, drugs, stress, I believe). It's really good, honestly. Snow Sakura : a game by [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (you can check out their website, lots of H-Games there, although almost all of them have a very poor storyline, and I don't like the art or interface in some of their games). I personally liked the game a lot, it's very enjoyable and "happy", and merely concerns everyday life. No tragic stuff, no insanely dramatic stuff, just some humour and a soothing setting. Princess Waltz : This one clearly focuses on the characters and storyline much more than on the sex. The storyline is... funny. And sorta complicated. The game's story takes place in a heroic fantasy environment : chicks fighting each other with messed up swords, trinkets, magic powers... = girls having epic battles, for some epic royalty-related reasons. The storyline functions with the usual parallel worlds : there's the normal world which we live in, and the messed up magical world. Anyway, it's pretty fun, and it's VERY long. Yin-Yang - X-Change Alternate : A game that focuses much more on the sex in my opinion, especially one of its story paths. Plot : a random guy gets turned, by accident, into a beautiful girl. And well, basically, lots of smex ensues. It's a decent game. I know a few other good games, but they're much more focused on the sex scenes than on the storyline, which you seemed to be most interested in, so I didn't mention them. Anyway, I do hope you meant PC games, else this post is quite useless :/. If you want to check out more English H-games, try [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] : they translate most of the eroges we get in English. Oh, and I haven't played Shuffle! but [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].(I can at least see some awesome graphics) [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] also looks good. ![]() ![]() Symbols and emblems are what gives us anonymous users a recognizable identity. Kippy could have had anything else than the communist symbol, as long as it was violent, well known, and not pejorative. I'm not pompous enough to make my own emblem. Re: Are there English Dating Sims?
Saya no Uta is a pretty awesome one with an english patch.
There's a bit of gore here and there, but the story is brilliant. If you like any anime based on Key's works (Kanon, Clannad etc...), heck even if you don't, I recommend giving their kinetic novel Planetarian a read. It's just a story with voice acting and music with no choices along the way, but it's fairly short and very touching. ![]() Last edited by MisterH; 10-24-2009 at 07:51 AM. |

Re: Are there English Dating Sims?
Greetings all! I am still rather new to Nihonomaru, but so far i have really enjoyed it.
Regarding the original post, there are some dating sims in english, however most of the ones i have come across are rather weak or at least limited to the activities as opposed to the ones in japanese. It has to do with the japanese vs. rest of the world's regulations. Me, i am like Konradz's post-i play them for the arousal purpose. (Psst, hey Konradz, i really like the use of that word "arousal" a perfect choce of words!) To me, the h-games in english are for the most part, pretty sukky. Ive been cruising & perusing the makers' sites for the past few years, grabbing game trials, demovids, etc. (fun, free, and virus-free as well), and it allows me to try games out before (if) i decide to get the whole game. For playing most AVGs, i have found the trick to it all isn't translation-but recognition. When a character comes on the screen that you may want to have an "adventure" with-don't try reading the script, just remember the characters of the name. Be it kanji, kana, whatever. When the decision time comes (dont forget to save!), If the person's name comes up in a decision, that's what you need to remember. And if it doesn't work out as well as you had hoped for, well, that's why you save/load anyways. My best recommendation is for starters, go to some gaming online dlsite (ahem, hint) or hmm...dmm...(again, hint) and grab a few free trials, and give it a shot. Sorry for running off at the mouth/keyboard y'all. |
