MagnaCarta 2 follows a story set in the war-torn Lanzheim Continent and involves a male character named Juto, who cannot remember his past. The game will contain character designs by Korean artist Hyung-Tae Kim, and will include fully-voiced CGI cutscenes to deliver parts of its narrative. The game is said to deliver 40 hours of gameplay.[4] The game's battle system mixes strategic turn-based and real-time elements. There is no loading screen when entering a fight. During a fight, players can switch control of party members and customize AI for those the player is not controlling. There is a free-roaming camera throughout the game. In the game, players earn Kamonds by defeating monsters that can be applied to power-up weapons and generate new items. Each weapon brings about a different style of fighting which offers special abilities tailored to the weapon. Some special abilities require button presses. An elemental magic system called KAN is used to manipulate objects in the environment.
