To an extent I agree, I really enjoyed Morrowind. I put so many hours into it and still felt I haven't experienced half the game. Morrowind is awfully last-gen though. So sticking to what I believe, you can't really compare the two. They both have flaws. Funnily enough they seemed to trade them in the two games. Oblivion fixed a lot of what I felt was wrong with Morrowind and at the same time began lacking in some of the features Morrowind had.

Fallout 3 is overrated. Gameplay-wise, building your character, those are pleasant. The storyline and sidequests are an abomination though, and truthfully I want Bethesda to die for making this game and putting the 3 on it.

I play a game for a storyline. Fallout 1's storyline and general nature was incredibly enjoyable. Fallout 2's storyline and general nature + comedic action was very enjoyable (For example if anyone got to go through with the shotgun wedding). Fallout 3, the comedy was very bad-mediocre at best. The storyline wasn't even mediocre at best, it was just an atrocity. The sidequests were monotonous and essentially revamped from Oblivion. That's why it's not Fallout 3, It's just another Fallout game.

I dearly hope Obsidian doesn't drop the ball on Fallout: New Vegas and does not try to copy Bethesda. Bethesda obviously didn't care about the story and was just trying to cash in on the FO cult's original following/gameplay.

Fallout 3 was pretty much The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, but with Fallout stretched all over it.
I've played the Fallout series back through Tactics, 2, and 1, and I think that Fallout 3 was
a wonderful way for them to bring the game into a 3-Dimensional, FPS/TPS world.
I wasn't much of a fan of Oblivion, what with the answer to everything being to run backwards away
from your opponent, while hacking or shooting backwards until they eventually die, retreat, or get bored.
Unfortunately, you can sometimes employ this in Fallout 3; that was a mood-killer for me.
All-in-all, I think it was a great game, but we all have varying tastes.

I would like to say, though, that I don't think this game is very overrated.
Not the most overrated game, anyway. I'll save that title for the overrated trio.

Gears of War, Halo, and of course.. World of Warcraft.
Three average-mediocre games, which get more respect than most GEMS do.

I played Oblivion and liked it better, but im only about 6 hours into Fallout 3, we will see later on what I think. I really like the VATS system, but wish there was better leveling and a way to rearrange stats cause im to far in to restart but I know I messed my stats up already.

As a huge Fallout fan I have to say I LIKE Fallout 3. I lvoe the setting, the music, the gameplay. It is a bit different then the originals but with a new studio thats what you expect. Oblivion with guns is a somewhat hard interpretation of the game. Of course its going to feel like Oblivion, its by the same studio and using a slightly modified engine. but saying that there are many things that I wish they didn't change. I like what they have done for the most part and it is a really fun game in my eyes. yes it does get a bit boring and the VATS system seems to be repeative but thats FPS stlye play for you. The thing I always say is that it could have been worse. there are some like me that could walk around and shoot and scavange the world all day, and some that should play it only a few hours at a time. Its a HUGE game, I'm playing through for like the 5th time and still finding new stuff i didn't before and even things I missed where I have been before. My only real complaint is the repeative music, should have had more tracks for the GNR.
