Hard to pin one down but the one that was quite memorable for me was Chrono Trigger. At the time of its release, it was quite the trend setter.

All the Shin Megami Tensai Saga. Check them all out it'll be worth it.

FF9. It was my first, serious RPG that I ever laid hands on. Bought it used for $10, and it was the best $10 I ever spent. I know opinion on it can be a bit split, but I thought it was a very solid game that really delivered. Recent entries into the series really don't measure up in my mind.

Star Ocean: The Second Story should definitely get a mention as a close runner-up for "Favorite game of all time". Even with it's horribly awesome voice acting, it was a lot of fun. Can't wait till the remake finally gets translated. Working on First Departure until then.

I have to admint Star Ocean the Second Story was my favorite, but Star Ocean Till the End of Time isn't far behind on my list. I should Also mention I loved all the Disgaea games and they fall in my Top Ten list of games I never want to get rid of.
