i found a collection of Phanasy Star games on the GBA at gamestop once
Phantasy Star Collections
3 rpgs on one cartridge, they may be a little hard to start off without a booklet or something, so do some FAQ reading on the gaming info site of your choice

how about sigma star saga? it's a mix of rpg and shooter, it has a good story and you can spend some time trying to adapt to all ships.

it's number is 2090

a) they were not made for the GBA, they were ported there as they were, so they didn't get touched up
b) graphics do not make a game
