TeH's Tuts #2 (magna Carta) **Finished**
Steps 1 and 2:
![]() - So this is how I started out. this is actually the SECOND layer, but the first is just a plain black layer. It's just bands of color in different widths. That was the color scheme I had origionally intended for, but it didn't turn out that way in the end(Thank god). - Anyways. I took that second layer right there, and changed the filter to Hard Light to get THIS: ![]() Step 3: ![]() - So then I did some brushing on top of the other layers. It's a light green here, but it could have been white too, I like slight tints to my highlights.(pay no attention to the black Bg by the way.) - So I did that brushing on top of the other two layers and set the filter to Overlay to make it look like this: Step 4: - Okay, so remember that random black brush in the first image? I added a layer of more of that brush in blask still to add the low-lights of the sig. The fliter for this one is Normal. It looked like this: ![]() Step 5: - Added super cool strong guy stock image: ![]() Step 6: - Okay, so this step involves three layers of rendering. The first is using a ronded slightly see through brush to add shadow to the body with a soft look. The color of the brush is black, and the filter is set at Overlay. - The second layer of rendering is still black and used for shadowing, but I used a grunge brush that was much more opaque than the other brush to get the edgy hard look. It's visible in the upper right corner and follows the right and top edges a bit. It's on his shoulder where you can tell easiest. This layer is also an Overlay fliter. - Third Layer was a layer of orange brushing over his barrel/hammer thingy and set is at Overlay as well. - With your powers combined....er, these three layers combined(BUT DO NOT MERGE THEM INTO ONE LAYER) you get this render on top of the stock: ![]() Step 7: - Added border and text here. Normal border, normal text, both orange. The only little trick is that I put the text layer as the THIRD layer of the sig. That means is was under the high-lights and shadows in the BG, so it got the Hi and Low lights as well. I thought it looked cooler: ![]() uh, and thats the end. Side Note: If you look at this Tut and my other tut on here, you'll notice that a big part of my sigs is Filtering. I do TONS of different filters in each sig, and I use Overlay, Multiply, Hard light, Burn, and Dodge alot. I use Luminance, Screen, and Soft light for text most often.
