Does anyone know how sound drivers work?
For quite a while now I've been having problems with my sound drivers on my computer, and it seems like no matter what "official" drivers I install, nothing works, I've uninstalled and reinstalled and rebooted a ton of times, it's really annoying.
I'm on the verge of just reinstalling windows again...it's that frustrating. ![]() |

The only things I can think of doing is doing a clean reinstall of windows or getting a new sound card.

Sound drivers are like all other drivers, they just tell the computer haw to speak the language of you’re sound card. First try taking it out and putting it back in. It might have fallen out a little, and dust can be a real problem sometimes. If that fails try it on a different computer and see what happens, if it doesn’t work it’s probably busted.

Zero_ice is correct. Most likely you have a hardware conflict with some other hardware or it is bad. Since you do not mention the version of Windows you are using or the hardware involved it is very difficult to help you more than just general statements. Get specific and I can give you more specific answers.
Start with these. 1. Model of Sound card or motherboard hardware? 2. Brand of either? 3. Operating system and service packs installed? |
