http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_3.0#USB_3.0
"USB 3.0 is targeted at ten times the current bandwidth, reaching roughly 4.8 Gbit/s by utilizing two additional high-speed differential pairs for "Superspeed" mode, and with the possibility for optical interconnect." 4.8 Gigs/sec! Too bad commercial products will come out 2009 or 2010 though. |

Not exactly excited but I’ve been waiting for it quite some time.
It’s about time a new USB came out, firewire is currently walking all over 2.0 with it’s 800Mbit/s bandwidth. |

Sort of excited although USB 2.0 was pretty good for me.

Eh. I've had no complaints about USB 2.0, so no, I'm not exactly excited. So long as 3.0 devices will still work with 2.0 ports, I will be happy.

Who cares, wow its only going to be faster. Thats all. 2.0 is fast enough for decades.
Just another shit reason to raise computer prices.
See you all in Hell.

Mmm, yeah... not sure if I'm 'excited' for it - my mouse and keyboard don't really need that kind of bandwidth and I've already got a theoretical 3-6gbit transfer for my external drive using eSATA, so usb3.0 probably won't change much for me. I just hope they keep the slots backwards compatible like they did when switching from 1.4 to 2.0 - loss of compatibility for the lose.

I have USB 2.0 and it has been good enough for me. I doubt I need USB 3.0. They are trying to get us to upgrade our com and we waste some money in doing so... I don't intend to upgrade my com for the next 5 years unless it is no longer able to support my needs.
