This is a godsend for a lot of people with mulitple machines.
I been keeping up with the news but, somehow I musted have missed the part about the optical connect. That would just be amazing. I think the general public releases for this tech is going to be moved up before 2010 though. Possibly 1st/2nd quarter of 2009 according to some of their journals. Can't wait. I just wished there was a way to update my PS3 with this tech as well, argh. |

not excited .let see what my computer use usb ports for
1 . Mouse 2 . keyboard 3 . Game pad 4 . speaker (only for power) 5 . cell phone (nokia pc suit) 6 . webcam (for power and data transfer) 7 . Cool disk (transfering 1-2 mb documents) i won't think I'll going to upgrade my computer just for this |

Another reason for people to shell out cash uselessly. People are still using CD's in addition to DVD's right? Same way how people will be utilizing 2.0 with 3.0 around. I'm not all that excited; I mean sure it's faster.. but what am I gonna use all that speed for?

It doesn't matter for me because USB3.0 will only come with new Flash Drives = They will be expensive unlike the older stocks that support USB2.0 below.
I also need to set up a new rig if I would bother getting this one. |

Not so much excited,but my interest is captured. I agree with the other posters though about the fact that is is not really enough to make me upgrade everything, but enought to get me to worry about how this may make usb devices more expensive.

I'm not that excited about it, and i think in general it's a pretty "forgotten" news. I haven't heard any people talking about this, i have neither really read anything about it.
