KM-Player is the player you'll need for your movies as it plays most major file formats such as OGM, AVI, Real Media, MKV and DVD's MPEG-2 format. You'll hardly need other programme to help with your need with KM-player.

I go simple and I don't believe in codec packs. I use Media Player Classic + ffdshow + Haali Media Splitter. Plus Real Alternative if I ever need to play RealMedia.

klite codec pack for players like MPC.KMPlayer for its simplicity of playing almost any format.vlcplayer for just in case especially for h264 video in AVI files.

I use K-Lite Codec Mega pack or something like that.
It includes all the codecs that I need together with Media Player classic. It is a must for those who encode videos. |
