Good day i have a huge sound card problem my system is running windows xp ice edition (hacker programmed) service pack 3, i have been using it for a year, i recently had to get a mother board because my old one was fried seeing as i was broke my friend gave me a ddr 1 motherboard he was not using, so i installed it and more or less got everything up, so anyway the old sound card from my old motherboard was put into the new one with all my other old pci hardware, my external cards won't fried because my graphic card is working, and i tested my sound card and it was being read on another system i am currently getting no sound from neither my on-board sound card or my external sound card, my old motherboard was able to use both as i can freely go to the sound properties and change from my default to my sound card and get sound now my new motherboard is unable to get neither, i did all the basic i re-installed my windows, i un installed on board drivers left external drivers, i un installed external left on board, i installed another operating system,i went into bios and disabled my inboard sound card, i took my external sound card out and tried my on board, i even triple checked to see if there mute, but yet i got no sound on either my external sound card nor my on-board so am typing this to see if i missed anything, the other operating system i installed was vista ultimate 32 bit and i still had no luck in which my sound card on board was lucky enough to get any sound,
so i come here to ask for help any would be very helpful and thank you in advance. note i know there is a huge typo in the title it not sound kind it is sound card. (badboy disappears) |

Re: Sound kind problem any help would do
have you tried updating the sound card driver? or perhaps search whether the driver supports your system...and also providing a more detailed specs of ur system may help us understand more.

Re: Sound kind problem any help would do
try updating the bios, then try the sound card in another pci slot, that pci slot could have a dead pin check also here is a little test u can try get the speaker rca plug and just touch the metal where the sound card is and if u a high pitch noise then the card is conducting electricity. also try and rest the bios or flash the bios.
does the mother baord have an onboard sound card. if it does see in the bios to see if u can disable on board sound and then see if the sound card will work. also try and change in windows xp control pannel sound settings change the output sound card from the on board sound card to ur pci sound card. |

I don't really want to flash or rest the bios because of the sensitive setting, that are sett, there are many disabled drives and modify options that keep my computer running (had to modify it because of a missing floppy drive and a voltage setting problem.) thanks for the advice, i well try again with the sound card if not am going to have to buy the usb external soundcard. =\ (badboy disappears) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Member of

Re: Sound kind problem any help would do
after reading your post about how sensative your computer is with disabled drivers. really think that you have a software issue or an irq issue. see if you have irq conflict issues. before you go and spend money. the irq port being used by the sound card could be the same as another irq port.

Re: Sound kind problem any help would do
I believe there is something wrong with the sound sector of your motherboard.
When plugging your speakers into the on-board slots or soundcard slots, do you get any sounds? static sounds through the speakers? Last edited by kokkishinx3; 11-21-2009 at 11:24 PM. |
