I hope to make this worth your time for me to say that I can't reconnect to the Internet after an unexpected blackout (There weren't any future reports for people to prepare for the blackout either..). But after a few hours where we have the power back...I can't manage to connect to the internet. Though I found out that when I saw through network connections that the "Internet Connection" was disabled, I attempted to Enable it back but it only Failed on me..I even did System Restore in case there was something wrong but to no luck...I'm stuck with a computer without an Internet Connection...

The main problem is, I can't seem to reconnect back to the internet after said power cut...is there anything I should do to reconnect it again??...those who wander about me posting here right now, I'm actually in someone else's computer...+

In case you wander, I already paid the Internet Bills....obviously since if I didn't...it would redirect me to the site that provided me the connection, not a message saying "The Page Cannot be Displayed"

It will help if you write do you use modem, router, switch etc. how you connecting internet by software? Do you have any firewall etc. Becouse at this moment we can only shoot what it can be. I have sometimes "The Page Cannot be Displayed"when my internet connection is overload. So give us more info ;]

My guess is that your browser is attempting to connect through an invalid proxy.

If you know how, you can reset the browser. If not, reinstall your client.

dude due to a power failure.

the possibilities are

1. your router and modem broke when the power return (power surge)
2. due to unexpected shutdown your lan card is dead.
3. due to unexpected shutdown your drivers has been corrupted thus making it impossible to connect

well this is all what i can think of.

He can chack it, do: start -> run -> write: "cmd" -> write : "ping google.com"
If connection exist you will get answer form host, so you need to reinstall your browsers.
If not, then we mast look for something else.

Actually, I went to "Network Connections"...and saw that in the Internet Gateway, there was an icon "Internet Connection" displayed saying that its disabled...my Local Area Connection works fine, but when I try to Enable "Internet Connection"...it shows a dialog saying "Connecting"....then after a few seconds it changed to "Connection Failed"...I'm just looking for any way to get it back...I already paid the bill so...

And it faced several power cuts already but it survived...but in the last power cut it didn't manage to survive...

@Kangax - Broadband Connection...I can connect the LAN but there was that Internet Gateway thing that says "Internet Connection" and whenever I tried to reenable it it just fails...Oh yeah, its also shared between my comp and the one in my dad's room...and no I disable firewall usually

just try reinstalling your driver
or check you LAN properties

it must have the following:

Client For Microsoft Neworks
File And Printer Sharing For Microsoft Networks
QoS Packet Scheduler
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

if there is anything there disable it
if you are using avg there will be a

Avg Network Filter Driver. dont uninstall that
or
try disabling your IEEE 802.1x authentication then try to connect

yeah but don't disable the AVG hehehe

For XP:

just insert the driver and install it. it will over right everything

For Vista:

go to device manager then look for your LAN in Networking then uninstall then put on the driver and install it again. DON'T JUST INSTALL IT LIKE IN XP the registry will be screwed up

You mean that wire thing used for telephones?? I unplugged them then replugged but they still don't work
