What are your opinions on mkv subs in vlc?
I've had problems with .srt and .ass sub in mkv's before, playing them on vlc. I'm on a mac and have thought .ssa subs are the cat's meow, though. What codecs, sub format, and package would be the best to maximize usage on all OSes and still allow for multiple subs like an mkv does?
KY JOE. Proper lubrication is the other half of the battle.

Try K-lite codec pack. I used it to replace the VLC.

Yep that's one of the best codec pack out there, also updating vlc when new version comes out also a good idea. I don't really had any subb problem since i do this two.
