What are your opinions on mkv subs in vlc?

I've had problems with .srt and .ass sub in mkv's before, playing them on vlc. I'm on a mac and have thought .ssa subs are the cat's meow, though. What codecs, sub format, and package would be the best to maximize usage on all OSes and still allow for multiple subs like an mkv does?

Try K-lite codec pack. I used it to replace the VLC.

Yep that's one of the best codec pack out there, also updating vlc when new version comes out also a good idea. I don't really had any subb problem since i do this two.

Rep is always appreciated.
Spoiler!

Re: What are your opinions on mkv subs in vlc?

I can't stand subs in VLC players. I just download the codecs and play in WMP (Windows Media Player). For VLC the subs always end up in strange places for me. I prefer moving and resizing the subs in WMP.

mkv subs on the vlc is pretty bad. the subs lag and overlap with each other making them unreadable. other than that, vlc is fairly decent.
