Re: splitting zip files
There are other programs to compress archives like Winrar and 7zip. If your compressing program has an option to "split to volumes" and it will give you options depending on the size of the archive: from floppy disks to DVD.
Example: You have a 200MB on winrar you choose "split to volumes" and select the size of the "disc" if you choose Zip 100 it will divide the archive in two and if you choose a 3.5" disc it will divide the archive until you have the 200MB compressed. Hope this helps.

Re: splitting zip files
use winrar, it should have an archive splitting function... if not, its still pretty easy to split them using winrar, since its well organized

Re: splitting zip files
Yeah, winrar is a good choice plus it supports many other formats. All you need to do is input how big you want each piece to be, and it'll split it automatically.

Re: splitting zip files
Winrar is what you will use mostly, but 7 zip comes in when people put the files in .001 format.

Re: splitting zip files
f you want the most support use power archiver ,but winrar will give a better encription if you need to hide something from others.
and winrar only zip in zip & Rar if i'm not wrong but power Archiver compress in Zip ,Cab ,7z,bh ,lha,Tar and it,support far more compression and encription technic (but Encryption technic on Winrar is more complex) powerarchiver made a better looking selfextracting files and made it fram anysort of files that it open. it even can open CD images. what i like about it if for example you change a file in the archive (Something i usually do with my firefox addons when i upgrade to new build) it ask you if you want to change the file in the archive . it has a very good spanning system too. |
