questions about Macs?
Ok I've had a window's based laptop for close to 5 years now, but will soon be getting a new Mac.
I'm familar w/ the Mac scene but wanted to know if anyone that has a Mac has had problems w/ playing any movies or specific file type videos. I know that they can use windows programs but wasn't sure if some/any of the Codec Packs and Players that I currently use will work. I use the VLC and MPC and I think it was either the K-lite or K-lite mega pack that I have installed. If you have expericence or knowledge regarding codecs corresponding to Macs and there is a codec pack that you use for playing all your vids then please let me know. Likewise if you feel I need to convert all my vids to 1 file type then again please let me know. |

Re: questions about Macs?
I don't personally own a Mac but I was using Mac Os X for a short period of time. I had no problems with watching any video containers. I'm often watching anime in .mkv / .avi / .rm / .rmvb .

Re: questions about Macs?
Let me tell you this in advance....
When using mac you will notice that it is kinda hard to copy and past using the normal windows features.... If you notice this then try to use the mac icon and the corresponding key that you know from windows... The same counts for ALT-TAB... Just press the mac button with the TAB button. This works for the mac-os... But if you install windows on a MAC it can change back to the CTRL button.... Good luck with MAC... let us know what you need to do to watch anime if you get it working. |

Re: questions about Macs?
I'm kinda bringing this back from the dead here but if you need codecs look for the Perian codec pack. It has tons of stuff and when used in tandem with VLC you can play nearly everything except corrupt files.
