AVI to DVD Problems
Kay, i have been trying to convert my anime onto a DVD so that i can watch it on the widescreen tele, however the conversion is fine and it plays fine on the computer as a DVD, but when i insert it into the DVD player and watch it on the TV the Subtitles appear squashed from the sides and sunken into the bottom of the screen making it incredibly hard to read and to the extent that you miss parts of the subtitles because they are completely cut off, does anyone know whats causes this and how it can be fixed, any help would really be appreciated
Thx

Re: AVI to DVD Problems
before we could help, please tell us what kind of your tv? LCD or tube version, second, what type resolution you set in tv? cause the resoultion in old tv not more than 640*480 if you extend it into 800*600 the picture will not shown in tv. But if you see it in nowadays LCD that problem wouldn't appear.
Then after that i know your tv spec, i want to know that if you set it in wide screen mode? PAL or NTSC? cause in some tv will cause that too... nowadays avi files that shared is in widescreen mode so set it in normal version first before play it in TV. and you couldn't compare it in computer cause computer could play video in all mode (widescreen, HD version, etc) only need codecs not alike DVD player taht only a codecs that inserted at the time it produced. |

Re: AVI to DVD Problems
I use winavi video converter and i have no problem getting my anime to dvds in widescreen and excellent quality so you may want to check it out, and i also use the 4:3 aspect ratio (don't know if that has anything to do with it though)

I found that ConvertX2DVD works really well. You can even add subtitles.
