Sadly i think Haruhi 2 wont be out for another while, due to they are airing Clannad at the moment :monk: whichi love it :em0160:

I also heard rumor and saw some videos of what Haruhi 2 is actually about... This is may not be true now...

I think the second season is calll 'The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi' . It is also the name of one of the light novel. I think it was something happen , haruhi disappeared. Kyon tried to save her, so He went back to 3 years ago with Mikururu ... to find out what exactly happen 3 years ago...

The rumors of an oct Release for Suzumiya Haruhi Season 2 were a Hoax. I think it had to do with some fan projects that took clips from a Jump event and posted them on sights like you tube. Right now I believe Season 2 is scheduled for 2008. As per the Story, there is ALOT of material they could use from the light novel; especially because they aren't constrained by chronological story lines, as we saw in the first season, however there really isn't enough for 8 seasons, seeing as how 13 episodes drew from 4 different books(yes there were 14 episodes, but one was written by Nagaru Tanigawa solely for the anime. Right now there are 9 Light novels out, with more in the works, so in the future 8 seasons might be possible if they keep it to around 12 episodes per season.

BTW if anyone is interested in reading the light novels in English, Baka-Tsuki did a great job translating, and you can see how well the director did in bringing the light novel to life; Here's a link :

Yeah, hoax maybe to harsh, I think it was probably more like a mistake made. The Jump event took place quite a while ago, and the rumors started spreading soon after that. Problem was the video obviously had things not shown in the first season, because it was animated purely for the event, showing unrelated scenes that may or may not be in the second season. This sort of spiraled out of control. you know how that can happen.

I finally took the time to see this anime over the past two days and I really love it so I can't wait for more. No matter which way you see it, the last episode doesn't give you really any closure which really annoyed me so hopefully they'll get the next season out soon.
