ok so how does this work?? i dont mean splitting i mean joining. when i try to join i can only input the first part.

Well this a no brainer, just load hjsplit, click on join and a join window will appear.
click on input file button, select the .001 file and press start. test the file before deleting split parts.

silly question. of course the first part is needed, you cannot tell the program to merge it from part2.
