Plot Summary: It is the year A.D. 2307. Fossil fuels on Earth have been depleted entirely, with mankind turning to the next available power source: solar energy. During this time, 3 orbital elevators with solar power generation systems are built, each under control by the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations (formerly United States of America), the Human Reform League (Russia, China and India) and the Advanced European Union. However, not all countries are able to enjoy the benefits of this system, leading to widespread resentment and war. Arising out of the conflict, a mysterious military organization known as Celestial Being appears, dedicated to end all warfare using Mobile Suits called Gundam. This begins the stories of Gundam Meisters (pilots) Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism and Tiera Erde as they are thrown into conflict between the 3 superpowers and the various other factions.

Not all the Gundam series are on the same time line. Gundam 00 is the first on the AD timeline- the current half of the real world Gregorian calendar.

The original series and its kin link together in the UC (Universal Century) timeline. These include 0079, 0080, 0083, 08th MS team, F91, Z, ZZ, and others.

There are also other 'alternate timeline' series. G Gundam is a stand-alone series. The Gundam Wing family is on a separate timeline as well.

My favorite has always been the UC timeline, 0083 and 08th MS team in particular. However, Gundam 00 is EXCELLENT, for those that have not seen it.

i've been watching gundam 00 ever since it came out and it was such a bummer when i had to wait the whole summer for the second season. i'm waiting for episode 16 of the second season and it's right at the climax too. things are definitely heating up and gettin' good.

I enjoyed this series as well, but I think that Wing may have had a better story, if not better animation. 00 seemed to need a bit better conclusion, but I guess the movie should help. I have to say, of all the Gundam series, Wing was one of my favorites. That and 08th MS Team.
