Suggestions for anime, year 2000+

well, recently(past 6 months or so) i've gotten into the romance/drama genre x] lol, and i can't find any good ones...well i can't find many... >.> shows before year 2000ish either looks old(colours and such) and the appearances of the characters back then isn't appealing :P anyone have any good suggestions on Romance,Yuri,Drama,Ecchi, and/or Harem? ^_^ well i would like to suggest

Utawarerumono (Adventure, Fantasy, Mystery, Romance, Shounen)
Uchuu no Stellvia (Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Mecha, Romance, Science) really great series but they cancelled the making of the second season so the ending is a little bad...because it left room for the 2nd season
Shuffle! (Comedy, Drama, Psychological, Romance, Science Fiction)
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora (Comedy, Drama, Romance) sad T.T
Love Hina (Comedy, Romance, Shounen) well, i dun think its THAT good but still good

those r the ones i can rmber, its 9 am atm XD lol haven't slept
i dun rmber any good yuri, but the yuri catagory looks like good ^_^
ooo maybe Kannazuki no Miko (Drama, Magical girl, Mecha, Romance, Supernatural) its yuri too, even tho it doesn't say it lol x] all the genre things r from ANN :P

Hmm, I also have recently gotten into Romance/Drama, not 6 months, more like a couple weeks ago! I know lots of anime that are mostly shounen, seinin and there is a bit of romance, but for Real romance ones, I don't know much, sorry!

School Rumble - It's a love comedy, more comedy than love imo, but it's hilarious!

Zero no Tsukaima s1/s2 - Watch it, it's good romance, loli ftw? lol

Shakugan no Shana - Romance, and crazy loli weilding a killer sword, it's good

Byousoku 5cm - I love it, it's actually what got me interested in Romance, it's so beautiful!

Hachimitsu to Clover - haven't seen it but on a website (which I'm not allowed to name?) it got a rating of 8.66, 3000 votes, it's probably good :P

PS: The Seiyuu for the main couple in Zero and Shana are the same! Yup, both male AND female! You'll hear it. :)

hehe thx x] imma try school rumble, i actually alrdy watch all the rest o.o cept honey and clover, i dun like how the characters look LOL xD can't really concentrate on the story when the chars piss me off >.> :P

o btw for that 5 centimeter's per second thing, how many episodes r there? and where can i find it? i only found ep 1

on ann it says there's 3 parts =x

hmm...school days is also kinda good, but i dun think u'd like it, since u like comedy/action along w/ the romance :P

The rest... I dunno. As I said, there are many other shows with elements of romance, but it depends on how much sillyness/tragedy you're willing to watch. For example, Mahoromatic or Saikano may fit the description, but I really doubt you'd want to watch them.


However, you shouldn't ignore older stuff. For example, Golden Boy - stuff like that shouldn't be missed by real anime lover

Hey I'm pretty new around here, but I do know a few romance/harem animes
that are pretty interesting.

I would like to suggest:

Amaenaideyo!! - If you're into over-the-top harem stuff e.g Love Hina this is pretty funny.

Strawberry Panic - It touches on yuri quite abit, alot of fan-service

Ichigo 100% - Harem, but with a lot of heart! Nishino's juz perfect ; )

I;m actually more into action/mecha but some of the titles there have nice romantic elements you might want to look at these:

Full Metal Panic & Full Metal Panic Fumoffu ! - Fumo fumo ~~ Sosuke and Chidori can kill me sometimes... many LOL moments. Recommended purely for entertainment value.

Vandread - (Action/Mecha/Comedy/Harem/Ecchi) ~~ really .....

And Henguy is right .. Byousoku 5cm is really a must watch.. very stylish ... As far as I know it has only 3 episodes..

Hmmm, I think Romance stories fall into two types: Angst filled melodramas and the sweet soft type:

For my favorite Angst filled Anime:
Suzuka (almost retarded in how melodramatic it is, but still a good series if you can put up with the main character)

Just good wholesome Romance: I think REC is pretty good, although the episodes are only 15 min long, with exception to the first one(24 min).

My favorite Comedy has got to be: School Rumble Season 1 and 2. Its really close to the Manga, hopefully a 3rd season some day.

Action: Samurai Champloo, simply for the characters.

Great All around Series: Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu - Hight school anime with ESPers, Aliens and time travelers!
Full Metal Alchemist-Great story, gets deeper as the series progresses.
I'm also a fan of the oldie but goodie: Trigun, starts off pretty formulaic but pulls it together in the end.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but Shingetsutan Tsukihime is a good one, unless you've played the game first. If that's the case, stay away.

The genre will probably be like "Action"? Not too sure.

Anyhow, not quite sure if it's been mentioned either, but if you like Bleach & Naruto stuff, you might wanna give yourself a try in "D-Gray Man" or for old times sake, "Yu Yu Hakusho".

I know a lot of people rate Hunter X Hunter to be like DBZ like (sort of), but I've not really gotten into that anime, so you may wanna give that a try.^^
