So I'm getting more time to watch anime. At the mo' I'm only catching Naruto, Bleach and Soul Eater. Based on that what else is worth getting into?
I'm probably looking for something in the same vein as those, although not adverse to something completely left field. Suggestions? Recommendations?
Well, it'll be great if you let us know what anime you're finished, or currently watching.
Try out these.
Code Geass
Full Metal Panic
History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi
Hunter X Hunter
Kyo Kara Maoh
Sekirei
Seto no Hanayome
Shakugan no Shana
The Law of Ueki
Utawarerumono
Vampire Knight
Zero no Tsukaima
I've placed them in alphabetical order so it's easier.

I think that you should try watching Shining Tears X Wind. Its just like Bleach and Naruto, but I think the drawings if way better. Its like Final Fantasy too.
IF you want to try a completely different anime, try watching Higurashi no Naku koro ni. ITs pyschological and horror, so yeah....

have to say out of all the choices made and what your currently watching go for, Full Metal Panic, its the first anime i watched after naruto and bleach and compared to both of those it made me relise that giant robots mixed with slice of life pretty much owns everyone... also the animation as a whole is higher quality which is nice.
IF you want to try a completely different anime, try watching Higurashi no Naku koro ni. ITs pyschological and horror, so yeah....
actuelly i thought the same thing but it might be a bit to brutal for his current taste
watching Shugo Chara currently and while im enjoying it, its probebly far to cutsey for mostpeople, unless you liked cardcaptor that is

I suggest Koihime Musou. If you like The Three Kingdoms, Dynasty Warriors game sagas, or chinese history, then you may like this. Essentially, all the heroes in the three kingdoms get a makeover as females. Doesn't follow the story line of Dynasty Warriors though. It's pretty light hearted. Also, if you really like ecchi, there are a lot of lesbianisms in here.

Definitely One Piece - even though it has like 100+ episodes already, but everyone loves comedy :3
I recommend Kuroshitsuji (which just came out in the beginning of october). It has a lot of pun in Japanese. And very cool ;3

Since Shining Tears X Wind was mentioned, I might as well say "Tales of the Abyss". I've played through the game more than once, and am surprised I like the anime version of it as well...since videogame based anime aren't really my thing.

If I had to recommend any 1 anime to anyone, it would be Monster. Best ever, in my opinion. Score was great, plot excellent, no filler, characters were believable and well-developed, and the moral implications of the story were much deeper than the usual crap about friendship and stuff. This was about the meaning and weight of human lives, and whether we should kill one person to save another. Very good, very moving.
