What are awards and how to request them [Archive]

Awards are given to forum members who have contributed greatly to the forums, either by donations, uploading/adding content, maintaining clubs or otherwise helping out with the site.

If you want to see what awards are available and what the requirements are for receiving a particular one, you can just click on 'Awards' on the navbar, or if you can't find that, you can go here.

To request an award:
1) Click on 'awards' on the nav bar at the top of the page.

2) Click 'request award' next to the one you'd like to request for yourself (or someone else you've noticed has been doing a good job)

3) In the section of the request form that says 'Please explain why the listed recipient should receive the award,' you must include links to your upload threads, noting how many uploads each thread contains (if they have more than one)

4) Wait for the staff to double-check the qualifications and award it to you!

5) You can request as many earned awards (for things like uploading anime or manga or renders etc.) at a time as you have actually earned. User Awards may only be requested one at a time (see below)

For users requesting any award in the User's Awards (http://forum.nihonomaru.com/awards.php?award_cat_id=6) category :

Your account needs to be over 3 months old to request any award. Even other users can't request an award for you unless this requirement is met.
You may only have one User Award request open at a time.
You'll need at least 15 positive votes to get the requested award and you need to get the votes in less than 2 weeks. In case the time limit is up - no matter how many positive votes you have - the request thread will be closed and you won't be able to request the award again for 2 months.
If you recieve 7 negative votes - even if you have 15 positive votes - you won't get the award and you won't be able to request it again for 2 months.
Those who wish to vote need to have at least 2,000 posts.
Any vote must have a valid reason. YES's and NOs will be counted only if a reason is posted along with it.
A rule for awards that can't be requested for yourself: Members requesting an award for someone else must give a valid reason in which he or she explains why that user deserves the award. Without this the request will be denied.
Voting for yourself is forbidden. Even if you do vote for yourself, your vote won't be counted.
If you don't fill in the request form correctly - following the award's rules - then the request will be rejected.

Note for voters:
Always be fair in voting. Even if a friend asks you to vote for him/her, remember that it's your vote that keeps this award system clean and fun, and it's your vote that gives real value to the award. Please be considerate, so that we can all enjoy this.
