I think it would be neat for useage of imagemap tags in BBS Code.
Gaia-Online has [imgmap] tags so people can have image maps in their signatures if they want. Of course it involves PHP hosting sites for people to host their imagemap stuff, but there are free sites out there which can handle this.

[Only registered and activated users can see links]
This is the Gaia Online Topic on how to put an imagemap in ur signature, And prety much I was wondering if nething can be made here to do something similar?

Note: I'm not advertising Gaia Online, it's just I figured something like this might be handy on Nihonomaru ^.^
:casual: :casual: :casual: :casual: :casual:

Edit: lol one of the reason's i'm bringing this up, is because my Signature uses a lot of links with minibars, and an image map instead would use up less characters in a sig, if i just make it into only 1 image instead of many ^.^

even tho this is an ok thought it can also be done with html if u know how an can be easier too, but something like users being able to do thinks like that could damage the site. even tho i know my html an java along with some php i wouldn't want to be able to even as a user since i know the risks of it.

I know it can be done in HTML, but u really can't use it for the Sigs on here.
As for the PHP risks, the code that's in the PHP only applies arroung the tags

[imgmap][Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])The URL of the php file is in the [url] tags, so thoes only apply to the [imgmap] tags. So it's limited only to that section, so no problem there can be made.

ic ic yes, but then you would have to take into thought of that not all know the right codes like how to set it up so there is only hot spots,

here------------------here
|||||||||here|||||||||||||
here------------here||||||

like that but the hot spots still might get some members, along with the right coding ad-in for the site, but we will have to let katie give the finally thoughts on it.

AS for me if done right then im ok with it, but as alot might not know of it, so it could be a waist to set up too.

For thoes, all u need to know is 2 points for the positioning.

Simple way is to take the image that you are using for the imagemap, and paste it into MSPaint
Hold ur mouse on the top-left corner of the start point of the image map, and look down at the bottom of the MSpaint window, and it will show the cordinates.
Doo the same for the bottom-right corner of the imagemap and get thoes cordinates.

Thoes 2 points form a box which in the php file u put thoes point's in the slot's for the link.

Do the same for the other link areas, and it becomes very simple ^.^
