View Full Version : Code Geass DVD Season 1

For those of you that are fans of the Code Geass series, the first season is releasing for americans tuesday August 5th, thats in two days. actually one now.

Anyway it has 4 releases. The first is the kickass expensive box set, 2 dvds, 2 cds(I would assume OSTs) and the first issue of the manga, 50-60$. The second is the 2 dvd set of the first season, nothing more. The third and fourth are half-season dvds sold seperatley, japanese voices english subs.

I am really excited about this because, even though I have seen the whole series, excluding R2, I have only seen it in low quality or with badly sycronised sound. So the chance to see it in high quality, with good sound and any extras included will be awesome.

Anyone else plan on getting this within the first week?

EDIT: Damn, i think this should be in Anime News, sorry about that.

Code Geass is a great series; a little twisted, but awesome. I've got the second season, but haven't been able to see it yet; i'm sure it's as great as the first one tough.

I had a huge amount of hope for the dubbed version, and I was let down greatly. To be fair, living up to Zero's voice isn't easy, but I simply hated dub Lelouch.

I did to, but the dvd has the original japanese audio(english subbed), so I'm happy with it.

i watch the dub version on adult swim, :( man did that scare me. though wasn't to bad :D since i new the voice actors

English dubs are always scary (ie. loopy fist) but Lelouche had a much deeper voice in the japanese version, and because I found out about the show from adult swim the deep voice was odd to me, but much better in the end.
