Well, I'm getting a new computer, a 'Acer Aspire M5500'.
This are the specifications:
Processor: Intel Core™ 2 Quad Processor Q6600 2.4 GHz
Memory: 2GB
Harddisk: 500GB S-ATA
Videocard: 1024 MB (max.) nVidia GeForce 8600GT
DVD-Rewriter: 16x DVD-RW Double Layer
System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (NL/EN)
(Not really happy with Vista, but I can play Crysis though.)
And DirectX 10.
Good or what? :wohoho:

Sounds awesome to me. Have fun with it. Make sure you don't give i viruses :D
:P You should just get a 80 gig raptor drive for windows, and just get the 500gb one for a slave drive :) it will be much faster!

Pretty nice, just dont like the Vista, this is my impersonation of a Vista pop up window
"Microsoft word is not compatable with Mircosoft Vista"
lol, but sounds good, but Vista is probably not as bad as they say, I jjust prefer my XP for now in my opnion

sounds like a good system, except for the fact it is an Acer, I've had to fix more of those than any other except a gateway.
discounting dell because I used to work in IT for a place that only ran dells

Vista is good once you turn off the UAC (User Account Control) service. cuz damn it is annoying.
but beyond that I've been running vista at work for a month and it is fine. a few quirks due to it being new but nothing to bad.
also most MS products made for XP will work on vista, except some of the development pre 2005

Ubuntu dual boot FTW, I'm dual booting that and Vista currently. For running XP programs, there is a compatibility mode which should solve most problems.

Oh wow... people responded on this. :XD:
Anyway, I have Vista cause it was the only choice when you bought a computer... But then again, it has DirectX10, so it's better for Crysis.
And I will not use any Vista stuff like mail & IE.
I use FF for internet and MSN for mail.
I heard the problems about the mail in Vista. xD
And I have no XP anymore, and I will not download it.

I'm not paying for Vista, I get it free with it....
Vista honestly isn't that bad. But yeah, uninstall all the crapware that comes pre-installed with it. Firefox is the only way to browse the internet. I've been using Vista since literally a week after it was released and have not encountered any problems that I wasn't able to fix (a little googling can go a long, LONG way).

nice specs, why dont you build your own pc though?
its easy to build them and you have more control over your parts and whatnot
the graphics card lets it down a bit,an 8800gts would be better but other than that and vista, its a good spec.
after building your own pc you will never go back to buying pre built,it just rocks

I agree Raging modding it quite popular now and you can do DIY but no playing around with the electronics, OK.

wait for 1+ years ahead when the vista get the most stable state. or seek if vista release newest product vista with service pack 1 included or something like that. windows problem usually because it's not stable yet before they launch service pack 1 or more. Like Windows XP™, before service pack 1, some network services for some network hardware wouldn't work.... it's true. i speechless if you buy computer with os that are still baby......
