What type of AMD processor do you have? (AMD 64 3500+, AMD Athlon64 4000+, etc) Also is it over clocked? What type of mother board do you have and do you know its limits? But if you are looking for the best processor out on the market for that socket type... If your mother board can handle a duel core you might want to look at this - AMD Opteron 185 Denmark 2.6GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor... ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) But if you don't and you want to get a new one you can check out here ([Only registered and activated users can see links] 7502&name=Desktop) and until 7/31 you can get a deal maybe on a combo (mother board and cpu.. thats if you want to stay with AMD)... and if you are looking for single core cpus (AMD) click here ([Only registered and activated users can see links] 7502&name=Desktop). But thats if you interested in buying on right away. Myself I use Intel. I heard that AMD is easier to over clock and such but I kinda grew to love my little cpu.
Note- All items are at newegg.com you might want to shop around after you find out what you want
Also if you don't know what you have on your PC you can always use WinAudit ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) I'm not to sure if it tells you anything about your mother board but its freeware so its all good. PC audit and inventory of software, licenses, security configuration, hardware, network settings...

If you already seen the specs on your board if not you can click here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) Yeah and it does look like computers are starting to head that way too which is crappy... They always have to be upgraded at least every 3 months if you want to stay on the cunning edge. Well your welcome dude and dont add the thanks to my thing ok. XD I dont like numbers i let my deeds speak for themselves =P. Well I hope it helped you out some what though XD But in any case if you go to over clock it make sure you have some air flow to it and try to keep in in a cool room if possible. But at that rate you might have to use a water cooling system but then again what are you using you computer for... if for games you have to semi keep up. If its just going on the web then you can wait a long time for upgrades then lol. But if your getting into programing you will need a high end machine so you can test it in all types of environment. But as far as the AM2 I would wait on it until they get some of those bugs worked out XD
