Summary
Based on a shounen manga by Yuuki Masami, serialised in Shounen Sunday.
Tsutomu Senkawa is an average high school kid who is busy studying for his senior entrance exams. Tsutomu goes out for some fresh air, after a hard day’s work studying for a big test, when he runs into a guy fleeing from a pretty young lady. The pursued man is actually an interplanetary criminal on the run from a Federation agent called Birdy Cephon Altera. Caught in the midst of this chase, Tsutomu gets thrown by the man at Birdy, which kills Tsutomu. Fortunately for Tsutomu, there is a way to keep him alive, although it comes at the price of discarding his body. He ends up merged into Birdy’s body. (AniDB)
Thoughts
Calawain: I’d boycott the show just for the horrible, horrible title. I can’t even say whether that’s even Engrish, because it’s too far from English. Aside from that the story premise seems silly and the main character looks rather stupid above.
itsubun: Has potential. Probably watch one or two episodes before dropping.
Riex: I just watched a couple vids/music vids for the older series, along with a trailer for the new one annnnd…I’m watching this. Looks like it has sufficient doses of weird, action, dark, and pretty.
Shokkeru: Never saw it, probably never will.
Briar: HUH???? This is enough to put me off birds forever.
Extrange: Okay, this is an anime that looks it’s a flop at the first sight but that it seems actually good. The better way to describe it is being a mix of Kashimashi (only for the body issues part) and Metroid. The manga is nice to read and shows some of the potential the anime can have. Besides, it doesn’t involve furry birds as you may think by the name. Viewing potential: 4/5 (it has half naked chicks…)
Crusader: I heard Extrange mention Metroid…will conduct a armed recon, but if I get ambushed by unwatchable crap, well Extrange I have a rifle and it ain’t for looks…
