my very first would be sailor moon but i never counted it because i didn't realize that it was manga when i was younger. so my first manga would be yuyu hakusho that i bought from the school magazine. hahaha, yes for 8.50 american dollars. :p not including tax, and yes i sitll like it, although i moved from yusuke x keiko to kurama keiko :D

1st would have to be pokemon, followed by digimon... but back then I could barely understand english (I speak french... and no I'M NOT FROM FRANCE) and those are kinda retarded shows so I don't really count them as animes... so I'd have to say Escaflowne was what got me into anime. The beautiful artstyle and sceneries, great story, interesting characters and, of course, the blood really got my attention. (The show was also what sparked my interest for katanas... I had been facinated with swords long before that, but it's just something about katanas that make them way more awesome then other types of swords)
