Plot:

Eureka Seven centers around Renton Thurston, the fourteen-year-old son of Adrock Thurston, a military researcher who died saving the world. He lives what he considers a boring life with his mechanic grandfather in a boring town. He loves lifting, a sport similar to surfing but with air as the medium. He dreams of joining the renegade group Gekkostate, led by his idol Holland, a legendary lifter.

An opportunity to do so literally falls into his lap when a large mechanical robot, called the Nirvash typeZERO, and Eureka, a member of Gekkostate, crash into Renton's room. Renton's grandfather orders him to deliver a special part to the Nirvash, which reveals the immense power dormant within the typeZERO. Afterwards, Renton is invited to join Gekkostate, where he quickly discovers that the behind-the-scenes life of Gekkostate is hardly as glamorous or as interesting as printed in the glossy pages of their magazine, ray=out. Only one thing makes it all worthwhile for him: the presence of Eureka, the mysterious pilot of the Nirvash.

The series contains allegories to the Second World War, the subculture and its music, the environmental movement, surfing, and the distrust of the government.

i think its excellent!! :D

Don't compare this masterpiece with something like gundam. It has the best character development ever, best soundtrack ever, one of the best stories ever made, awesome action, comedy and drama. Not even a single thing is bad, and so many things are great.
Without a doubt a proud member of my top 3.

This one was my favorite anime for a good while and still sits in my top five. The art style is beautifully crisp. The story is touching and well paced with a perfect plot/action split.

The strongest part in my opinion is the music, easily my favorite of any anime. Besides being a great collection in general, it's perfectly assembled within the show and I often go back to it just for that.

I loved this anime too. The story was great and the fight scenes were awesome. The only thing I didn't like was how everyone was always crying so much...so much crying :nonono:

I really loved how it ended!

I guess you wrote this out of ignorance and fanboy behavior. The Gundam saga revolutioned the mecha genre. Before "Mobile Suit Gundam", anime was considered childish in Japan, and there were Super Robots like Mazinger Z and Raideen, which were treated like invencible super-heroes. "Gundam" introduced the concept of military based anime plot, of mecha as mass-produced tools of war and created an interely new genre of "Real Robots". In Super Robots shows, the villains were either demons or aliens, Gundam "villains" were just normal soldiers fighting for their beliefs. Even Eureka 7 pays an homage to the series, "White Devil" was Amuro Ray's nickname. You should learn to respect this masterpiece.

That's right man! Your arguments prove that Eureka 7 is bullshit compared to the great Gundam series. Take that stupid fanboy Titens!

Don't get me wrong though. I loved Eureka 7, the only thing I hate about it is the fanbase it tends to draw...

Eh... Gundam is known as one of Japan's heritage... so I'd say it's a fair comparison... I mean you don't see actual stamps made out of Eureka Seven, now do you?

Well I do most certainly enjoy this show, I just found the excessive of beating the crap out of Renton to be rather awkward at times, when it is done by a grown man... Child abuse much... amirite?

yeah, but still it made renton more likeable, I liked it coz' he was able to show off his capabilities to holland with a very strong impression, especially during somewhere between ep. 19 - 22
