BIOGRAPY for dummies^^:
BUCK-TICK is a Japanese rock band, formed by Imai Hisashi in 1985. They are sometimes associated with visual kei, but have been greatly influenced by Western gothic and industrial rock. Their musical style is very hard to describe as they keep changing it and developing their music all the time.

The band members are Sakurai Atsushi (vocals), Imai Hisashi (guitars, noises, electronics, vocals), Hoshino Hidehiko (guitars, chorus), Higuchi Yutaka (bass) and Yagami Toll (drums).

BUCK-TICK have performed with, for example, Marilyn Manson, KMFDM, Soft Ballet, Luna Sea and The Yellow Monkey. The band members have also participated in different side-projects, such as Schwein (Sakurai and Imai with Raymond Watts (PIG) and Sascha Konietzko (KMFDM)).


ADDITIONAL INFO ON Schwein:
Schwein is a music group consisting of members of KMFDM, Pig and BUCK-TICK. Members Raymond Watts and Imai Hisashi, both having worked together with Schaft, were joined by 櫻井敦司 (Sakurai Atsushi) of BUCK-TICK and Sascha Konietzko of KMFDM. In 2001 Schwein released an album, Schwein - Schweinstein followed by a remix EP Schwein - Son of Schweinstein. Schwein toured Japan in the summer of 2001, however Konietzko did not tour with them citing illness, though also stating he was absent so he could focus on KMFDM.

INFO about the vocal:
Atsushi Sakurai(櫻井敦司, Sakurai Atsushi) vocalist for the Japanese rock/new wave/experimental band Buck-Tick since early 1985. He was Born in Fujioka, Gunma Prefecture on March 7th 1966.
In 2004, Atsushi Sakurai released his first solo album, 愛の惑星 (Planet of Love)

It also features a remake of a 1992 Clan of Xymox collaboration track.

In 2004 he thought he would try his hand at acting and starred in Ryuhei Kitamuras 'Longinus' movie. The movie reportedly did quite badly , and sold nominal sales worldwide. It's considered a cult favorite by ryuhei and sakurai fans worldwide however.

He released a book of his poetry and lyrics called 夜想(Nocturne) in 2004.

He is still currently with BUCK-TICK and working on another album after the release of the Kagerou single.

His Martial Status:
Married in 1991 to Buck-Tick stylist Sayuri Watanabe, divorced; remarried in June 2004.
