i right now use CS2 and i am would say i am above the normal user can do in photoshop , but i have always had a prob and dont realy know what to call it so i never been able to search for help

ok we will take some ones sig for an example

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

hopfuly Envisioner wont mind i am using there sig as an example

ok now my question is how do they made it so the curved lines look good , i did notice there extention is a .png file and i always saved mine as a gif , but is it realy that easy or am i still missing something , i am sick of the 400x120 sigs i always do i want something different and just cant get my images to look good , its croped but when i save it to gif it looks like shit on the website unless there perfectly stright lines

i think its just a matter of feathering it. i'm not too sure.

i dont really understand your question all that well either.

lol you cant consider yourself above the normal user when you always save as a gif,
gif has the worst quality never save as gif unless your actually making an animation save as a png or jpeg

pshh :em035:

by the way post some of your sigs i need to see one just to make sure what your talking about but i think your problem is your just saving as a gif, your getting shit quality on them because of that

Envi's sig is a .PNG format, as what GEN said. .GIF has the worst quality to save, I tend to save all my sigs as .JPG. .PNG foor pop out sigs and .GIF for animated sigs.

For the curved lines, it's either a well cut render, or its been given a feather to smooth it out

He probably just blended in the render well or like other people said, he feathered it out or its a good render.

hmm, thought stuff like png was very basic...

anyway, like the others said, stop with the Gif, only use it for animation!! if you want a transparant background, go for PNG, but ofcourse don't forget to clear out the white background when saving to PNG

as for those lines you're talking about, you're probably thinking of stuff you see on the sides of the renders, so just use HQ renders that are cut out well...

and why says 400x120 is a standard sig size, you can pick whatever size you want, but make it to small it'll end up as a button, make it to big and it'll become a banner...
