This is probably the best and most beloved yaoi series ever made. Haru wo Daiteita is written and illustrated by famous mangaka, Youka Nitta. The series focuses on Katou and Iwaki. They are rival AV actors who are both trying to break into the legitimate acting world. Unexpectedly, Katou falls in love with the older, stubborn Iwaki while they are auditioning together as lovers for a movie. Katou begins to relentlessly pursue Iwaki and the rumors of their romance propel them to super star status.

This is a movie that Iwaki and Katou made together in the series. So it is an anime of a movie within a manga. Make sure to read at least until volume 5 before watching this.

It is an epic period piece about a forbidden romance with lots of battle scenes and great music. It is very sad, I cry every time.

Omg. I just finished all 12 volumes and 5 ovas + the trailer and I'm still bawlin like a baby!!! I just had to tell you that I too bawl *each* time I read and watch Winter Cicada. Thank You Soo Much Again for putting all this together in one place! I am soo in love with this series, I am extremely anxious for the next chapter. I have seen the anime on veoh and loved it and was wondering if anyone could advice me on whether or not it would be worth reading the manga (is there or are there any differences to the anime in the manga?? ie different ending, longer than what was animated etc...) i do not wish to download all just to find out that it is the same, would anyone who's read it all tell me please.... very anxious as got crapy slow computer. oh i really love this manga. im in love with the 2 of them. the storyline too was so good and exciting. is just so sad that we can never see how it will end since youka niitta's case of forgery. i hope someone will just adopt it but i would think it won't ever be an original but i hope someday she can come back and redeem herself and be the greatest again. all of her works was always explendid. i have a highly respect for her and all of her creations. i just pray and hopes always for her come back and blew us away with her stories.
