The ultimate anime for the true anime fan/"otaku"z

Hey, hows everyone doin?! Good i hope..Im just sitting here at my friends house eating glazed duck and steamed rice.....I swear ,his mom makes the BEST japanese foods....well, she is japanese afterall...his mom is japaneede,like i said,but his dad is chineese,so he SPEAKS 3 LANGUAGEs,Mandarin,japaneese,and engkush,and right now im his student ,learning jaoaneeese.Anyways, Ive had a few small bottles of sake, so im kinda carrrying on....sorry :).....

Anyways, I was wonderingg, in your honest opinion, what Anime is the tru Anime fans/"otakus" perfect anime is,Im talking about the anime for the TRUE anime fan.no matter how corny,cheezy,sentimental,or strange it is, It can be any anime exeot for hardcore hentai (occasional nudity is ok, maybe even an anime with one or two se scenes,just as long as the anime isnt based purely on sex with a crappy plot like a porno).

id like to hear a few good ,original titles.and by "The anime fans perfect anime"., i mean animes with story lines,art,characters,settings, and acting original to japaneese anime,and with that special anime"feel" to it.ou true anime fans will know what i mean......so everybody, list your favorite animes,and ill try to make a poll for "The true anime fans trurly best anime".thanks for reading this extra long message, i think ive enjoyed a few too many bottles of sake...and of you see this Tim-Lee,be sure to thank your mom for the wonderful dinner and that awesome imported Sake,

I agree. I don't believe there is an anime for the "true otaku". Everyone is different and it doesn't matter how into anime you are, Naruto for example could be your favorite even though you watch everything under the sun.

i think if you really are hardcore animes fan, you will drop naruto out of the best anime list...

20 century - slayers
21 century - going to be code geass r1 if no better anime come out... heh mayb slayers forth series can take over

Yeah, I agree, everyone's tastes in anime is different. However stuff like Akira and Battle Angel Alita are widely considered as cult classics to name a few.

Maybe some of Hayao Miyazaki's work comes close to best 'all-round' anime.

gurren lagann and eva are two anime that for me sum up the entire point of anime. They are two series beyond the comprehension of western storytellers imo.
Any violent anime that goes against the norm in america of keeping violence nearly out of cartoons, my mind goes to Elfen Lied, it being the most violent ive seen

Defenetly one of the best anime series. The best serie for otakus about otakus. Here everyone can learn about the life of normal otakus in japan.

For the true men, you must watch Hokuto no Ken　[北斗の拳] because of it's manliness and exploding muscles (No I haven't personally watched it)

For talk, the guy I agree with the guy who said Azumanga, I think Lucky Star and Azumanga are pretty much on par

But personally I think the most otaku anime are like Nanoha types - the ones you see fat people with cameras hiding behind telephone poles watching, if you disagree it's perfectly fine and i'm not necessarily saying it's a bad anime; just that Nanoha is...yeah

Then you have the original Gundams - not the sissy Seed or Wing stuff but stuff for real men; I would suck Char or Amuro's penis anyday if they didn't get crushed by Axis

Hmm, I agree with what people have said about there being no specific 'Otaku' (Although I dislike that word) anime. However I think Lucky Star and Hayate no Gotoku would have to be up there. Lucky Star because Konata is an Otaku icon really, and Hayate because you'd have to be a hardcore watcher to be able to understand the sheer volume of references it makes.
