FAYETTEVILLE, Georgia — Authorities investigating the apparent murder-suicide of Canadian-born professional wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and their young son said Tuesday that details of the deaths may seem a “little bizarre” when released to the public.

The family was found dead Monday, and authorities were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide. Investigators believe the 40-year-old Benoit killed his wife, Nancy, 47, and son, Daniel, 7, over the weekend, then himself on Monday.

“The details, when they come out, are going to prove a little bizarre,” Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper

I knot it may seem bad, but I respect him as a wrestler, he was the type of person, even tho his back was agains the wall, he took everything to the extreme *especially with headbuts*. Keeping that in mind, people that watch wrestling really respected his never-give-up attitude in wrestling *not in what happened*

:defeat: :defeat: :defeat: :defeat: :defeat:

Edit: I just watched the news on TV, and it just states that he Strangled his Wife, then Smothered his Son, and then hung himself....
That just goes to show you, that too many Head blows can cause serious problems.

I also don't follow wrestling much, but I read in other forums that some fans simply don't choose to buy into this story, since the guy never seemed off at all. So how many of you think there's something wrong with this story? I've got to admit, this whole murder-suicide thing doesn't seem all that plausible, but that's just me.

they were saying stareoids were part of the cause, but they retracted that story, when they found out the metabolic stareoids that were there, was actually his son's. his son was mentally handicap, and the stareoids were to help improve his son's growth.

I follow wrestling every week. And I kind of had a bad feeling when chris benoit did not appear at the vengence paperview on sunday and was replaced by johnny nitro for an ecw championship match against c.m Punk. the text messages that were sent out to some of his peers were kind of creepy and maybe a cry for help. he kept texting his whole physical address. and where his two dobermen pinchers were located at his house. there were stories of him being paranoid and depressed at times over the past few months. He was one of my favorites along with eddie guerrero. it's going to be sad not seeing the rabid wolverine after watching him thru his 22 year career. R.I.P Chris.

blu... I must say that I understand what you mean but I can't agree!
I'm european and wrestling isn't that famous here (although i had already seen a bit of raw and smackdown) so in my country the news weren't even aired. my opinion will be based on what i read here.

1st) he was famous and on medication... would you feel the same way if he was your father or, just to make more impartial, a nobody? (I'm asking this out of simple curiosity)

2nd) if he really had the need to die then he should have just suicide and live his family alone... (if the reason for killing himself was a depression or something related)

3rd) i'm no expert but for him to kill his closest family members the way he did I think he must have had a big revolt centered on them already, maybe because of the childs health problems and/or something his wife did, that was agravated by the consume of steroids. and there is no excuse for killing a child, even more your own child that you're to take the best care of and make sure that he will have all your help to be able to face the world when you are no more!

i could develop/explain this a bit more but i'll stop here before this becomes an even bigger text that no one feels like reading

It's world wrestling, They push there athletes to have the best looking/in shape bodies out there, The roid rage is what made him snap, Go look it up, If you've ever been in any kind of rage you should know anything around you/near you is going down before you are no matter what the hell it is, He didnt really Brutialy Kill his family, Not like most murders where they decapitated them...His son went peacefully they said, He did it while he was asleep and passed away before he woke up so that was nice...I know benoit Loved his family he didn't let his sons mental challenge get in the way of it,

I just don't feel bad for a guy that kills his innocent wife and child. I feel sympathy for the wife and his son, but for chris benoit I feel nothing. At the memorial for his wife and son they did not mention his name and I say good for them.

First of all get your facts straight. They did NOT mention his name. Second of all he took steroids to be a better FAKE athlete. Oh and how come all these other steroid popping athletes ie. Barry Bonds and others aren't murdering their families? The guy was obviously a sick freak and you obviously are one of those starstruck sheep for defending him. Shame on him and shame on you.

Shame on me? Go get YOUR facts fucking straight little boy (Where the fuck do you hear your trash? 9 year olds blogs or something?), Steroids affect people in different ways, It was only recently he started to take them since he had less time to work out and such, and being in the WWE They push there athletes to look the best. You think he was just some sick fuck? Why in the hell where there fucking bibles next to there bodies? you don't think after the roid rage stopped he hadn't realised what the fuck he did? Why the hell do you think he killed himself the next morning? Don't fucking say to avoid a prison sentance either, He cared so much he didn't want to live without them anymore

Yeah for some reason I agree with Blu. My opinion has nothing to do with being a Benoit fan for 5 years, there's just something wrong with the murder scene. Why the hell would there be a bible next to their bodies and think about the former husband or Bf of Chris' wife, the tard is an anti-christ and also threathened Chris' wife that he would kill her. Also, why would Chris wanna kill himself after he killed his family? If he really is a psychopath he prolly would've escaped and change his identity but instead (he killed himself/or was killed) meaning he is still sane to think about those things. Something smells fishy here, I hope the truth goes out soon.

Anyway RIP Benoit Family

Why do people find it necessary to talk trash on a dead man? He did what he did, he paid for it with his own life. It's really disgusting/sad/angering but we have to let it go. We just have to learn from others mistakes and hope not to replicate them. Point of the story, don't mess with drugs. You might not kill people in the end, but your still causing pain to others/yourself.

I have to say, I respected him greatly as an athlete. But, his death/suicide really turned me off wrestling all together so I really watch with out him anymore. It was just refreshing seeing the fundamentals every once and a while. Well, I can kiss that goodbye now.

Never heard of this guy. Wrestling is plastic, phoney and typically USA type of entertainment. One of the "sports" we european never will understand. Almost as dumn as rodeo i think.

Off course you can enjoy watching it, no problem, I also watch Married with children and its not a real family.
Any film or anime is eeeuh .. not real... But wrestling shows are so... yah retarded almost. In a good anime (or a film) it is much better shown the posibilities of a wrestling show.
Good guy gets beaten up, twice, third time, gives a roar so all the almost dead old ladys in the wrestlinghall wake up and suddenly he beats his opponent and wins.
He? this is 1 sentence and you look years on TV to one sentence...
But if you like it my blessings you have.

Lost all respect when he took the lives of his love ones. I wouldn't mind him killing himself but taking others is just horrible.
