Where You Live

I started this just for the members to say a little something about where they live, or where they're from. Feel free to say as much or as little as you want!


As you can tell from my profile, Im from upstate New York. Now when I say upstate, I do not mean Albany. And when I say New York, I mean the state not the city. I actually live about 100 miles or so North of Albany, the capital of NY. I live in a VERY small village that is literally a vacation town. It only has a year round resident population of 337 (2003 census). [Yeah, you pretty much know everyone by name here]. The total area is 44 sq miles. The elevation is about 1,700 feet, which means we get about 4 feet of snow every winter and winter is about 4 months long. Last year though we got 4 feet in one day of Valentines Day. Also, there are quite a few different animals that make regular visits. You see white tail deer all the time, year-round; Black bears frequently during the summer; and rarely you'll catch a glimpse of moose. Its basically in the middle of a forest in the middle of nowhere.:41:

Well, technically I am just outside the city of Atlanta, but it's close enough that I can use the more easily recognizable name. To hear the tourists talk, (outside of the topic of public transportation, which is one of the worst in the country) Atlanta has a lot to offer, and has personality. The city sprang up without a plan, so instead of all the buildings clustered together into a single area, its spread out over a huge area so that there is room for lots of parks and unique businesses inbetween the skyscrapers.

But that's on a tourist perspective. I on the other hand want to escape this wacky place. I am not really much of a fan of the 'gangsta' pseudoculture, and most of the southern side of the city is really into it. Even worse is the weather, where you will be sweeping hail off your porch one day, mowing the lawn the next in the blazing heat, and shivering under a jacket the day after. So it's a classic case of 'fun to visit, don't want to stay.'

Yeah, i know most of you havent heard of the name of this country *sob* for your information, it's situated above Singapore (Guess everyone only this contry T.T ) My country is kinda, err....... how do you put it.... "traditional" maybe? Coz it's stucked with the old-school thinking and never open it's door to other help >.<
I will DEFINITELY leave my country A.S.A.P. Not saying that im not proud of being a citizen of my own country but it's just doesnt seem right and as you all know, a country can never grow or flourish if it doesnt open up to the world. But now it's getting "alittle" better, at least they tried >.<
