Have you guys heard about this? Such a disappointment :T
I was reading 'OtakuUSA' and someone sent an email to them saying, quote "I had a question, regarding my favorite anime and manga series Axis Powers Hetalia. I was really looking forward to volume 3, but I heard that Tokyopop was closing down, stopping the production of all manga goodness!"
I shook my head no, and thought no way, that can't be true.
To my demise OtakuUSA replied,"As for Tokyopop, yeah, it's true. They're out of business and have ceased to publish manga, at least in the USA. The rights to their titles appear to have gone back to their respective parent companies in Japan, so it's possible someone else will license the best of them before too long ... at least, we hope so."
Can you guys believe this?! :ml33:

yeah I heard the news about 2 months ago. now I won't get to read the rest of Life by Keiko Sunobu or Aion T-T
it also, means all the material they've already released will have to be bought second hand in used book sections. I hope another company picks these series up

Awwh D:
I'm so sorry, I was really wanting to purchase more novel series of .Hack :T
But now I'll have to go to eBay or Amazon for it.
I hope some other companies take up these series as well, many are not even close to being finished D:

The problem is the books. I have been reading Juuni Kokuki for a while now. I know the series is still on-going in Japan.
I article I read last year said that TokyoPop would stop translating the series. The article also said that it was because of the jap publisher having a office in the US. I think it might be Kodansha. Still no news as to the next book now.

I might just get a japanese copy..... it will probably take me a year to read a book ahaha.

Actually, if memory serves Borders was Tokyo Pop's biggest buyer. It was probably a chain effect. Borders was going out of business due to their inability to adapt fast enough to compete with other business models. They went under, so Tokyo Pop US loses it's biggest customer. Fish or cut bait as they say, they gave up on the US as a market.
