I think Ryu too, but Dante would put up a hell of a fight. I think Ryu would win because he's faster, and its been proven that a katana can stop bullets (by cutting them in half). Also katanas can cut through skin and bone easy, so just cut off one or two of Dante's arms and he's a helpless torso with legs.

Dante for sure. While Ryu Halabusa has the agility of the cheetah, Dante has the demon's blood of Sparda. Plus Dante's versatile, using his Ebony and Ivory guns when needed, and when not needed, he'll slice you with his sword. Dante also can Demon Trigger into an ass-kicking demon.

If we're taking them as how they are played and what are their respective abilities, and if we assume a normal slash of one's sword does about the same damage as the other's, then Dante would definitely win because of his far superior magical powers.

But if we strip them of fantasy elements, if they were both human with realistic physical attributes and abilities, I think Ryu would have the upper hand because of his swiftness and fast-killing skill training (Dante focuses on brute force and would lack parrying skills and evasion)
