Black Lagoon is actually a new addition to my favorite anime series. I found the plot unique in its own way and the fact that you never knew what was gonna happen next lol. Most of the cast did develop over the course of the series aside from Rock and Revi and even for them it wasn't a big leap. None the less I found it kinda cute how over time Revi seemed to warm up to Rock but never flat out expressed it other then threating to kill anyone who would harm him lol. Black Lagoon is one of those series which could go on for as long as the creator wanted it to since its nothing more then a bunch of short events which conclude and then another happens. Having said that much I wish there was a 3rd season hehehe. Who knows it still might happen

Yeah, I really want another season too. A romance between Revy and Rock might kind of ruin her character a bit, but I wouldn't care since I'm a killer for romances. I was a little disappointed season 2 didn't have as much of Dutch and Benny though.

Black Lagoon was one of the better ones in the beginning too, I got hooked pretty fast.

The Yakuza Arc was probably my favorite, next to the Roberta one.

LOL Roberta was awesome and I could help but laugh when Rock pointed out she was like the Terminator and moments later there was a pretty obvious T2 reference with the car chase. While Roberta was undoubtedly a freak of nature I'm still curious to know how she managed to survive the blast from all those Frag Gerandes she dropped on to the floor from underneath her dress. Not to mention if I recall correctly she didn't even have a scratch when she walked out of the burning building:nani:. I agree the 2nd season didn't show Benny or Dutch as much though I was happy to see Eda get some more screen time:cowboy:. Speaking of the 2nd season it started off on a messed up note with those deranged twins. despite being antagonists I couldn't help but feel sorry for those 2, I mean they had a pretty jacked up child hood. Since those 2 where so insane I never could tell whether they were both girls and that the brother was just something the some how created in their broken minds or if one was actually a boy:6:. The Manga version only made things all the more complicated with them so in the end I just went with the theory of them both being girls but the only person who knowsthe real answer is the creator Rei Hiroe:smoker:.

Yeah at first I really hated the twins, but then you do end up feeling a little sad for them because of their childhood. That was a good arc too.

And yeah, the Roberta stuff was a little too over the top sometimes, but I think they wanted to make that one a little more laid back and comical, heh. The Terminator references were just hilarious. I think that's why she survived the explosion too ... they just wanted to remake that scene of the T-1000 walking out of the fire, with her. Haha.

I kinda felt sorry for the owner of that bar as the series moved along it seemed like ever other episode it was either getting shot up, burnt beyond use and almost getting blown to bits. Man I doubt I could put up with that much chaos going on in my business. After the 1st shoot out I be all like "Seeya I'm out of here" lol. That guy must really have no where else to go if he still reopens shop over and over again after each little mini war. I thought it was hilarious how he started seeing Revi as a bad luck magnet since the worst kinda crap always happens when she shows up lol.

I watched both seasons at animethat.com but that was almost 5 months ago so I don't know if the Black Lagoon links there still work or not since all vids on that site come from 2nd parties, but it worth a shot.

Yeah...Black Lagoon was something I took a change on (it didn't look too good at first :-p) and I'm glad I did. The show is amazing, and its got nearly everything I want: gunfights, cool mercenaries, and hot women with guns. Its an amazing anime all-around, and I particularly like the Roberta arc and the first two or three episodes...ESPECIALLY when Dutch rams the helicopter with his boat...it doesn't get much better than that.

LOL Oh yeah the 1st ep when the Hind was chasing them and Rock came up with that crazy idea of using the half sunk ship as a ramp. Yeah it was pretty cool when Dutch finally made good use of at least one of his 2 torpedoes. The look on that crazy Merc commanders face when the Torpedo came at him and smashed through the cockpit window was priceless XD. Roberta's arc was cool for another reaon which has been mentioned and that was her suitcase and umbrella bot concealed weapons. LOL the suitcase even fired rockets, now thats just awesome.

I think we have to wait until there enuff manga volume done before they even think about starting season3. I'm still trying to find v.8 (trans) of the manga, i have 6&7. which is good because at the end of Ep.24 when Revy got tired of EDA's shit talkabout her not get any from Rock..Had me worried she really shot her Nun-azz, but volume 7 took care of that fear...(so There you go for anybody who caught that at the end of the ep) But i pray everyday they make Black Lagoon:Reload lol or what ever name they give it..just keep the ending tune..walking on the beach never looked the same!!! P.s. In the Manga version of the Greenback Jane Arc...EDA mentions to Revy:hey do you know who that was?...this was after Rotten Da Wizard was shot by revy while falling from the Dock roof(ironically because Rottens partner burned it down) any way she said it in away as if there was some back story she knew about..but in the anime that part of the dialog was cut..

But if the Show keeps being popular between now an the time the have enuf material in the manga i don't see why wont do a third season..

There was one group of fans doing scan translations on it a while ago but I couldn't tell you if that project is still active or not.

The very interesting thing about Black Lagoon is the fact it has no solid plot but is more of a bunch of short adventures which happen right after each other. Normally in most cases a set up like that doesn't work well and normally ends up getting dull after a while but Black Lagoon some how manages to beat the odds and keeps viewers captivated and wanting to see what new messy the black Lagoon crew get into XD. I agree with you C02M0 ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) I also though Revi was a looker but you have to admit her personality many would say is a turn off lol. I'd probably not hold much respect for Rock if he hadn't stood up the Revi in season 1 even though it almost cost him his life he stood his ground a told her he wasn't gonna take her crap anymore. It became apparent before that little event that Rock made Revi uncomfortable which in turn lead to much hostility towards him from her. Dutch of course picked up on this and paired the 2 up for a business trip around town. I think his motive was he enjoyed seeing Revi get worked up lol. Rock made a few very good points on that day which would change his and Revi's relationship. After dodging a head shot at almost point blank range and getting socked in the face he really spoke the blunt truth. He told Revi that while he hardly knew her the fact of the matter was she hardly knew him and his own hardships in life, which was true and then he told her he was sick of her playing the tragic heroin when all else fails, that really pissed her off but the cops showed up and theor fight ended XD.

I like Twin loli killer in this anime cause they cute but crazy LoL
but they gone crazy cause their past so I am sad when they die (for the last girl carry the gun)

At first I just thought the twins were really messed up. But as the arc went on it became more and more apparent they were actually victims, not the ones at fault. I couldn't hate them anymore, just feel sad for them. Sympathy for the devil? They weren't exactly the most lovable personalities despite their painful past.

I live in America and thus far the only volumes I have seen are upto vol3 season 1,quite frankly I didn't even know there was a 2nd or 3rd season. Any help would be greatly appreciated.I watched both seasons online but I'd have to dig around my notes for the web address of the site I watched them at. Once I do find it I'll PM you it ;D. Though they'll be in Japanese with fan subs so I hope you don't mind subtitles ^_^;;.

The wraparound jacket band on Gen Urobuchi's novel adaptation of Rei Hiroe's Black Lagoon adventure manga has confirmed that a third anime project has been green-lit for production. The story revolves around a typical Japanese businessman who gets caught up in the escapades of modern-day pirate mercenaries off the Asian shores. Geneon Entertainment released part of the Black Lagoon anime in North America, but Funimation has since agreed to take over distribution of the anime. Funimation has confirmed that it will reissue the first anime series and start the DVD release of the Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage series on August 19.

I ended up discovering it when a random ep from the second season came on Starz, I went onto Animethat.com the next day and watched it and loved it.

The manga that the started it all, is at volume 8 now and I think volume 9 might come out sometime this year. I also heard that apparently a 3rd season is in the works which made me happy since the 1st 2 seasons were great.
The manga is really good and in some ways better if you've seen the TV series but haven't seen any of the manga you really should track it down. I only know where to find it to read in english online but if anyone wants the URL I'll post it.

One of the things the manga had which the TV series didn't was little short story skits, which the creator Rei Hiroe would do to take up extra space in the end of each volume. Some of these little skits were amusing cause he constantly screws around with the whole cast of the series show in the manga up to the point of the voume you'd be reading.
Of coure the farther in you go the more characters their will be.
Some of my favorite skits were the one where Balalaika was the mother of the Twins and Boss Chang was her husband. The short story was basically her struggle as a mother of 2 very twisted kids, it was good I kinda wished Rei Hiroe would have done more on that one, oh well.
The next was one where Rock woke up one day to discover he was a girl and that the whole cast's gender had switch so all the guys were girls and all the girls where guys. The funny part was Rock was the only person who knew that everything was mixed up everyone else acted like thats how things always were. LOL in fact a female verison of Benny expressed concerns that Rock probably wasn't sober from the other night yet XD lmao.
The final favorite skit was one where all the cast members popped up at younger versions of themselves, Dutch skipped town before anyone saw what he looked like as a kid. The 2 best you versions were Balalaika at age 9 and her Sergant at age 16.
Alas Roberta wasn't around either but quite a few cast members did show up :3.

I have to agree, one of the best animes ive seen, its has everything I could ask for: Drama, Comedy, Romance and the best Action ever ! I cant wait till the next episodes/series come around ! I just love the way how Revy and Rock are so completely different and yet go perfectly hand in hand to tackle on most obstacles

Yup, one of the best anime ever indeed. I was really into it, i liked the characters veery much especially the BL team. I also like the leader of this whole thing, that chick with her skin messed up, the russian boss XD. Also, i liked the freekin nun and the story about -washing money-, having -lethal assasins- backed up by the church. <- that shit is real.
What i like the most is the idea of loneliness. Even tough you have a team you must be ready to leave behind everything for them to be safe, despite the fact that this means to broke all relationships with them, and sometimes is hard to say the truth and you just leave..and then you are alone.
Yup, good anime.
