Great Teacher Onizuka

I've got 14 volumes of GTO (in Polish so please don't beg me for upload :), anime is G(reat), but manga is better. It's one of my favourite series, and about anime ending, I thing it's ... :/ I have seen better (but there was also worst).

Definitely a top 5 series of mine, and my favorite protagonist in any anime.
I agree that the manga is a little better (but only because it's longer and wraps things up neatly). If the series had a second season to finish up the final half of the manga, one could argue it's would've been just as good.

One of my personal best. Hilarious to the end but the final episode was a bit of a let down (and yes the manga is better most of the times)

Of course mangas are better than anime in most cases anime tend to follow their own path which sometimes really sucks.
I really liked GTO but I don't like the sequel Onizuka's high school life was lame I found the graphics in it lacking

Onizuka was great!! Totally wish that I had a teacher like him. School would rock because of it. The idea of using non-conformity ways of teaching n helping the problem students find their ways is too cool! Think it'll just be fun to be around such an easy-going character. lol Adventures all the time.

By the way, anyone seen the drama? The guy was totally HOT!!

My favorite Anime.....

The first few episodes of this anime really got me going off. I got so pissed with the kids I just wanted to grab them and strangle them dead. And I didn't like the idea of how Onizuka didn't get to deal with them in the traditional eye-for-an-eye handing down of punishment.

I especially liked how Onizuka smokes his cigarettes. Many animes try to portray their good guy with a badass quality by letting him smoke cigarette. So far, only Onizuka pulls it off perfectly and others just fail miserably.

Not as good as the manga, but as far as manga-to-anime adaptions goes this one ain't bad at all.
The VA for Onizuka does a good job.

I kinda wished how this anime would follow the manga a little bit more closely though because it just seemed like there was a lot more that the anime could have shown (that wasn't flammable by censorship. oh well...still a great series

I found GTO to be fun, but it certainly wasnt memorable for me, consider i just remembered it when i saw the topic. And i say it only about 5 1/2 months ago (guess). Onizuka was BAMF (Bad Ass Mother F-er for those not in the know..they're out there..), but the plot was both too random and not on track enough..its like the write couldn't decide whether he wanted it it either way.

definitely aimed towards the male gender, i didn't really like this anime. of course there were its funny parts but being a girl myself, it just kind of grossed me out. of course i'm not discrimnating that girls can't like this, it's just me.
