Based on a shounen manga by Yagi Norihiro serialised in Monthly Shounen Jump.

The setting of the story is a fictional world of abundant towns where humans coexist with demons called Yoma. These monsters feed on humans as their main source of food, hiding themselves in human society until they strike.

A group of skilled warriors form a nameless organization to protect humans from these demons. These warriors are called Claymores, after their immense Claymore weapons. They willingly infuse themselves with demon flesh and blood to become powerful half-human hybrids. Villages in danger of attack hire warriors from the organisation for protection.

The story of Claymore follows the adventures of the beautiful Claymore warrior Claire, who fights demons and struggles to hold on to her humanity.

Long ago, the Yoma, the shape changing demons, took human form to live in disguise among human society. They feed on human innards, and take possession of memories from the brains of people they eat. These acquired memories help them better disguise themselves within human society.

In recent years, a secret society discovers a way of implanting demon bodies and body parts into humans, to create hybrids more powerful than the original demons. Hybrid`s standard abilities include faster healing, limited shape modification, the ability to detect other demons and hybrids, and overall enhanced physical prowess. Almost all hybrids are created against their will; they are typically survivors of families attacked by demons. The only exception is the lead character, who volunteered to become a hybrid to avenge her family. The society sends hybrids to towns that can afford their fares to kill demons, although not every hybrid does so willingly (this is implied in the manga.) The society is often strict and harsh; hybrids who break the rules risk being hunted down by their fellow hybrids.

If anybody read the manga.. Ophelia is kinda smexy and pretty... oh and the monster version of her is still smexy on the end :p

My speculation on this one is, the anime is going to have a 2nd season.. 26 episodes isn't enough, as the manga is still ongoing and the anime is catching up very fast.

I read the manga! It was the first manga i buyed! I saw it at the shop and i fell in love! >0< The anime it's kawaii, but i prefer the manga, sure. In the anime "Claire" is said very strange! °° I didn't think Japanese proununce "Claire" so! °° Then, I don't like the voice of Claire and Raki. Raki is... weird! The voice doesn't fit with him, I think. And so the voice of Claire!

I should say its great, and its also the first manga I have ever forced myself to read. The worst thing about this is that manga is made soo slowly, and its probably going to be at least few years till they make enough material for season 2.

(however, some differences between manga and anime make me doubt that there will be season 2 *cries* )

That being said, its the best show this year for me. Oh, except Raki - I hate him as well, not because of his voice, but the very cliche'd character type annoys me.

I loved the last episode (19).. really love the way that Clare and Deneve fought.. they seem to have dominate the ability to come back after awekening...

I can't wait to see Ravi fight and show some new skills.. although he is not a Claymore..

I still hate Raki. Even more now. He pretty much ruined the show's climax for me, because he didn't allow me to watch Clare's battle as a whole. Had to fast-forward each time I saw his ugly face... Also, seems like his retardedness is gettng worse... I mean...

*He imagines he'd be able to kill Awakened Being if he wanted to... My @ss, he'd be eaten without Priscilla even waking up...
*He "heroically" runs to Clare, even if wouldn't be able to do s**t, and most likely he'd just distract her and get her killed.


I really miss Undine though... Didn't care about helium-sucker Flora, but Undine... she'd be the only Claymore I'd want to see after 7 years... except, of course, the party of main characters.

Well, in this case I have to agree with Undine - useless ones should stay out of combat and let powerful ones do the job. This remark didn't fit the battle of Pieta much, but its generally wise... Raki is not even Claymore, and his skills are pathetic, so he'd better train with Isley (Easley) instead of being a nuisance.

Being indipendent? Then I wonder why does he do that in such a stupid way... instead of becoming stronger and actually helping, he thinks he'd be of use standing around and screaming "Claire, Claire". Then again - his mental abilities weren't too impressive anyway.

I really think Priscilla should've eaten him... yeah, its not his fault, but if he was dead I wouldn't have to watch his "moral dilemma" instead of blood-boiling battle. It's like commercials in middle of a very interesting movie - just puts off the mood, and movie becomes boring. It's not anyone's fault, but if Ariel or Always went bankrupt... :twinkle:

I didn't say he had no guts, but the fact is, he is WEAK. Yeah, he fought Ophelia, but even "level 3" (whatever that is) got him wounded, and Ophelia didn't even break a sweat. Oh, he IS brave, but "brave"is not equal to "wise" or "strong".

The only problem in Raki is being human, but imagine that u where there, u too would be powerless...

The thing is, I'd admit that I am powerless, that's where the difference is. Instead of training (thing I would do), he decided to leave his master and run to Claire, where he would only be able :
a) to scream "Claire, Claire"
b) try to fight Rigardes (and, as Claire would probably try to defend him, get her killed)
c) to say something stupid like "Rigardes, you CAN'T kill humans! You shouldn't!" (something like what he said to Priscilla)

I don't understand why you think he'd be equal to Isley.

First of all, it depends a LOT which flesh he receives. If organisation wants to make #1, they make it #1. Of course, some things differ, but generally they control the power. Claire only got #47 because she wasn't planned and organisation thought 1/4 yoma = loser. Raki, unless he managed to tear off some #1's flesh, would get cr*p for flesh (because he wasn't planned) and become real #47.

Second, Isley in human form << Isley as Awakened Being (even partly awakened he is a lot stronger). He pretty much is normal human when he's not awakened, unlike Claymores, who are more or less yoma all the time because they can't control it. So far, you had only seen his human form, and even that surpasses Raki. If Raki rose at least to level of Rabona's knights, I wouldn't call him a weakling.


I can pretty much guess what you'd want to see. A guy like Ichigo from Bleach, or Naruto, who grows up from total loser to someone extremely powerful. Well, sorry, that's not the case in Claymore. Main Character is Claire, and in the next episode you'll be able to see how much she "rose" from #47. Rigardes (Ligardes) is previous #2 + Awakened Being, so....

Gotta agree with that; however, so far Awakened Beings weren't shown to be able to make Claymores. Otherwise, Priscilla's or Easley's flesh would give him huge possibilities... and he'd probably Awaken soon~

I seriously cannot wait until Clare shows her abilities in her very near-awakened state. The ending of episode 22 has got to be one of the best cliff-hangers and edge-of-your-seat excitement-inducing moments. Miria sure held her own throughout the fight earlier on though.

Manga gets released each 2nd of the month (July 2nd, August 2nd, so on). One chapter a month. The latest I've seen was extra scene 2 (Miria's and Hilda's sidestory), and next one should be released already. Of course, manga gets translated to English a little bit later, like 5th or 7th each month, but that's little to wait considering the work of the translators.

If anyone has anything to add or knows more, please say. That's as much as I was able to figure out.

I don't really know about the contents of future sidestories. One probably will be Undine, second about Deneve and Helen... I'd love to see Isley's (Easley's) and Riful's sidestories though...

PS. Is it me or Raki's "I will protect you!" was the stupidest thing he said so far?

anyway.. ep 23 takes a different path of the manga.. and here its beginning to change... the storyline its still the same.. but the events are differents..

maybe on ep 24 it going back to normal..

from what i've seen on the spoiler of ep 24.. looks like claire is going to awake.. but maybe its going back to the manga since the same happen on the manga.. although the events of ep 23 where different
