Well besides the all knowing about it what did you really think about all of it.

First time I saw it only a few DBZ was out on cartoon network and I was like WTF this stuff sucks. XD Then I liked it. All in all I liked DB or what I saw. DBZ was ok but some of the stuff could have been cut out or something and GT was the same.

Honestly, one thing that ticks me off is how people judge dbz because they think that onebattle takes 20 some odd episodes. That was just one saga people. And they only reson why they drew it out was because freiza saga was supposed to be the last one.

I personally enjoyed dbz for its simplicity. There were no "hidden plots" or conspiracies. There wasnt some scientific explaination as to why things were happening. It was just good vs evil. And sometimes, its nice to have that sort of thing. Also, the power that the characters (specifically the saiya-jin) were wielding was practically god-like. Some people dont seem to like that, but I love the idea of being able to transform into a super saiya-jin and do all the kind of stuff that they do. Realistically speaking, I cant think of many anime characters that can stand up to that kind of power.

I too enjoy Dragon Ball very much but one thing it is not is simple. So many plot holes are in the main story. Things that drive me crazy because it is never explained. They say things in one episode, and then maybe 50 episodes later, they say a contradiction completely opposite of what they said before. I can go on forever listing detail examples but there are many many other forums dedicated to only DB, DBZ, DBGT. That's the better place to discuss it I think. But I still love it very much.

I cant really say that Ive notice any plot holes like that per say. I guess I was just enjoying the action too much to really notice them.

which is why i didnt enjoy it at all...
the plot became farsturating after the first saga (iv'e wathced them all....) and it doesnt add anything to your brain, just plain watching people fighting - making no special moves, while the plot is very easy (bad guys Vs Good guys - good guys die- good guys return, good guys win)...

maybe it is because i have wathced the series in an older age (17) but it seemed to me as something to show kids- a good series for time of boredom perhaps...

And thats fine. I watched it when I was younger but I still watch it today and find it enjoyable. Personally I found the no plot thing refreshing. Anime I watch these days tend to rack my brain. Like I said, when dbz, it was good vs evil...plain and simple.

This was a nice serie, too bad they produced DBGT, at Majin Boo Saga everything was fine.. but this one together with CDZ, was the best of all

Oh one more thing, I would have to say the series really did set a trend for animes to follow because it was such a popular hit.

Wonder if Sonic the hedgehog was influenced by this series (*ahem* Supersonic? Jumps in the air and turns yellow?)

i watched DB as a kid and thought it was ok, now that i watched DBZ and DBGT i say DB sucks

Hmmm... haven't watched much of GT but DB was actually the first anime I ever watched. It was actually one of the 2 only anime available to me at the time. The other one was Sailor Moon.

DBZ was also very good, although I found it to be very repetitive after a while, and some parts were needlessly long... I didn't like this because if an episode was boring or filler it meant I had to wait another week for the next episode with the exciting part.
(You all know what I mean... Goku charging up his spirit bomb for like an entire episode against Friza... and then it fails... I was like... WTF what was the point of that...) :nonono:

2. that anime deserves more respect ((It is the reason Anime is as big as it is today))

3. it is the reason why I am an anime fan ((As many others have the same back story))

I watch it dbz all the way until the series was finished. It was alright but the games are just added new character I feel like im replaying the same thing all over again just with more extras.

The series was great even thought you got a little irritated by how they lengthened the fights, like buu almost beaten but then absorbs songohan and becomes most powerful again the comes gogeta and beast him into pulp whit just one finger. then he unmerges and get almost beaten down, vegeta almost gets killed a goku gets hes ass kicked in ssj3, then the spirit bomb and at the end Satan (the dumb fuck) saves the day. Then goku is to weak to deliver it but he gt in the last second hes strength back via dragon balls and dragon.Thast just one of the things. It was wonderfull series but if you ask me they finished it dumb in DBGT.

About point 2 I have to add: "It is the reason Anime is as big as it is today in America". In other countries especially in eastern Europe and Asia anime had a special place in every kid's heart since the early 80s. I've seen dozens of animes way before DB was even released and I'm not even that old. Getter Robot, Robotech, Lensman, Iga No Kabamaru, Plawress Sanshiro are just a few of them (my sister really like Candy Candy even though I hated it).
But still yeah I have to agree that even in the rest of the world the DB series "casualised" (if I can use such a term) animes and made them accessible in people that before DB though that Disney cartoons and such was the only way of the genre (simple, stupid, just for little kids).

It sure brings back good memories. Every now and then I randomly watch a batch of DBZ episodes from the "cool moments", like when Trunks randomly showed up and kicked Freeza's ass just when everyone thought they were screwed. One of the anime I prefer to watch in dub, not because of quality, but simply out of pure nostalgia.

Despite being the one that started it all, I only found Dragon Ball moderately entertaining. DBZ was my favorite. Then I think DBGT was a bit of a failure. A little slow with a crummy ending. I did like the lack of 50 episode long arcs that mostly comprised of "AHHHHH!"

DB was the best XD ahh.. the pure comical side of it was brilliant (i like funny animes :P) like when oolong (is that how us pell it?) got fished up with the panties.... or when goku freaked out when he saw that bulma has no "tail"

DBZ i enjoyed more than DB at the age i watched it at (i think i was 10....) but it's still entertaining :D tho at the time the charging up etc was entertaining, nowdays... its pure boredom...

i never watched GT :P

Wow these all my fav. series but out of three I liked DBZ most it was more funny & dramatic than others. Transformation of Goku & adventure of Gohan were my fav. parts. It was a awesme series, & I still love it very very much.

I liked dbz but i still think it should have ended with the cell saga. Where Gohan is all was all badass and that he took over Goku's place of being earth's top defender. The Buu saga was cool with the fusion and Goku vs. Vegeta battle 2.

GT.... I would like to say i never heard of it. The only thing what was cool in that series was super saiyan 4.

I love, DB but DBZ was cool too. GT was not so good, it sucked, because the German version was bad. It was a cut Version and they cut sometimes more than 4 Epsiodes, because it was to hard for the kids to see.

i like plain dbz especially buu saga frieza saga like jus the begining 4 me of more super abilities. ssj3 was the best hair everywhere fight scenes were marvelous.

DBZ, I think that was my first anime, although back at the time I didn't even know what the word anime met. Has anyone seen the new special OVA for DBZ?
