Comedy...not really.
Romance or ecchi is a no, BUT it is an awesome hot blooded action show.
Anybody see the new costumes (space ones?) all but Simon's look stupid...yoko looks the worst.

I would say too much about comedy for this one.

I enjoy Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The character development within the show is very evident and interesting. The plotline is also interesting, since there is twists within the story that add to the excitement. I personally liked how Simon grew into a man in which people can depend upon, cause some animes develop rather annoying main characters.

oh, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is also a mecha anime.

Gurren Lagann is awesome. There's also alot more character and plot development then most shows these days. The show OPs and artwork are also very well done.

I have to say that the only downside to the show is the fact that I have to wait 7 days for a RAW to come out...

I saw the whole show and I must say I enjoyed the ride, even if after the first episode I felt like it wouldnt last long. Mainly cause of the animation, it reminded me of FLCL, and I dont have fond memories of that show. Still the same it was pretty good.

My second favorite anime of the 2007 (Claymore's 1st) . The characters are awesome (Kamina is godlike), it's extremely funny and entertaining, it has epic moments and after ep 16 it becomes better and better each episode.
It's for sure a great anime. Too bad that it's become way to popular, and the fact that it's been called "best anime ever" in so many places has made me start somehow disliking it.
Still, everyone should watch GL... if you die without watching it you'd have wasted your life.

Gurren Lagann was my favorite anime of 2007. There were parts when I hated rossiu, but I loved the rest of it.

It's an over-the top mecha anime with lots of GAR moments, a bit of ecchi thrown in here and there and LOTS and LOTS of explosions. If you're into anime with lots of hot-blooded yelling, EXPLOSIONS! and fantastically huge robots, this is for you.

I heard that too and I'm not sure what to think of it. I doubt there are American voice actors that can compare to the phenomenal voice acting in the Japanese version, though.
